So when will he re-name the City? Also, “Escape From New York”… Life imitating art? It’s going to be interesting. There was a LOT of talk as to Staten Island splitting off from NYC and that’s not surprising one bit.. it’s the only Borough with a scintilla of sanity for sure.
Interesting is one thing… Catastrophic? We shall see but that would not surprise me either. My understanding that currently the amount of vacant commercial space in the City Proper is staggering.

Back when Abe Beame was mayor, NYC was on the verge of bankruptcy. Beame begged then President Gerald Ford for a bailout, and Ford replied “FU.” I do not think that Trump will give any federal tax dollars to NYC when the s**t hits the fan.
