I heard about Tac Pack and decided to give them a try. It’s sort of like a “jelly of the month” club, but for gun guys. The way it works is that you subscribe, they charge you $60 a month, and you get a package of random gun related stuff. This was my first month, and I am still not sure if I want to continue.
This month, the package contained:
- a four inch SOG fixed blade knife ($37 at Amazon)
- .223 snap caps ($11 at Amazon)
- an Ar15 Tekmat ($26 at Amazon)
- a brand T-shirt from TacPak
- a sticker from Tac Pack
All in all, the box is valued at around $100, if you were to buy the items yourself, so I can definitely say that it is not a ripoff or a scam. The only issue is that I don’t know if it is worth it to me, as I wouldn’t have gone out and bought this stuff on my own.
I will try it for one more month to see if I really like it.
As usual, the disclaimer: I don’t advertise, and receive nothing for my reviews. I have no relationship with any products or vendors that I review here, other than being a customer. I pay what you would pay. I only post these things because I think that my readers would be interested.

Tried it. Wasn’t of any real value. Good luck getting off of their “We miss you, Please come back” email list.

the first box is always “good” it seems…i’ve googled a few of the diff “box” subscriptions…they aren’t worth it in the end and some of them you can’t quit until the subscription time runs out…

the wife has tried a couple of these…one with snacks from around the world and another for our dogs…to me they aren’t worth the cost…you never know what you will get and normally half the stuff in the box you buy at some store that sells it dirt cheap after they buy this junk from other stores when it doesn’t sell…and if half what of what you get is useless to you, it def ain’t worth the money…

Hmmm… this is a great business idea on how to get rid of all the gun stuff I’ve acquired over a lifetime.
What would I do with all the closet space??

I’m not surprised. I’m not a fan of not knowing what I’m getting, so I’ve avoided these.
Of course, I don’t buy into the value of hand curating, specially chosen, etc.
I LOVE the spoof videos on artisanal firewood and artisanal toilet paper!

By all means try it, but make sure you know the cancellation policies and deadlines.
Mrs. B gave me a subscription to one of these a few years back.
The first few packages were fun to get. Generally I got some neat things … but also things I couldn’t use. Not, didn’t want to try (e.g. yet another plastic ammo caddy), but couldn’t use (e.g. ammo in a caliber I didn’t own, or Tannerite-like products that are banned at the local ranges) and depending on the item, were a greater or lesser nuisance to dispose of.
Towards the end, the annoyance and hassle of dealing with can’t-use stuff outweighed the joy of exploration, as it were, so we cancelled. That, it turns out, was a hassle.

I’ve canceled more than one credit card when I couldn’t “cancel subscription “ by any other means. NEVER allow a company access to your bank account.

Kewpie doll gifts. If I needed or wanted something in that price range chances are I already have it. Really no use for 2nds or things I don’t need (Kewpie dolls).

That’s why I haven’t decided if it is worth it yet. I could easily see it being a gift for someone like a “jelly of the month” club, but I don’t know that it makes sense at $60 a month. Like I said- one more month to see if I think its worth it.
