In April 2022, Biden said that we are sending Ukraine money and risking a war with Russia, a nuclear power, so Ukraine can continue to pay pensions to their citizens.
But it’s apparently too dangerous for American forces to evacuate American citizens from a third world African shithole whose government just collapsed.

I wonder how many of those pensions are ghost workers?
And at what level the money is getting siphoned off? My bet would be multiple levels. Corruption on top of corruption!

While I get your point, I have no interest in expending American lives or resources in either situation. Any American dumb enough to go to any African shithole isn’t necessarily an American I’d like to see back here.

Except that it’s not the Ukraine that is paying the pensions. It’s the US taxpayer, with 10% to the Big Guy, although @Jonathan makes a good point about the corruption being widespread.
