The courts told Trump that he can’t eliminate Federal jobs because Congress had appropriated funds, which he is then obligated to spend.

Fast forward a few months, and Congress has refused to appropriate any funds unless USAID and free Healthcare for illegal immigrants is included. Because there are no funds, government is shut down.

The firings have begun. The MSM frames it as Trump going after Democrats and getting rid of programs he doesn’t like. I think he’s doing what he was elected to do. He’s the first politician from either party to make real cuts.

Thats exactly what I voted for.

All he has to do now is refuse to sign any budget containing all of the bullshit like free stuff for illegals or USAID kickbacks for Democrats.

Stay the course, Mr President.

“The MSM frames it as Trump going after Democrats and getting rid of programs he doesn’t like. I think he’s doing what he was elected to do.”

Two things can be true.

Re the going after Democrats, I have no sympathy for those who persecuted him for daring to have won an election … especially when they are so incredibly hypocritical.

And yes, I, too, voted for this; and I wouldn’t change my vote.

He sure learned a lot in the four years he was off. And I also voted for Matt.

I think that was the Democrats BIG mistake in cheating him out of office for a second term and installing Biden.

He had four years to look back on his first term and analyse his “failures” caused by the Democrats blocking him and frustrating any and every attempt at reform and to plan on avoiding the same situation again.

Had they actually acknowledged his election in 2020 and allowed him a second term back then, then he’d have struggled to turn things around and been bogged down in “more of the same”.

He’s returned, refreshed, rearmed and with a clear plan on what he wants to accomplish and how to avoid or neutralise the Democrats mischief which the breathing space he wouldn’t have had if he had remained in office. The current situation is, I am convinced, foreseen and catered for during his four years out of office.

More of the same, please Mr President.

yeah, I also think we needed to have crooked Biden to get the Trump we see now.
and I damn sure he thought long and hard on what went wrong and how to move around the roadblocks they put in his way the first time around.
stopping the money flow was the first step in fixing this problem.

It’s like a child crying after getting spanked, after the child was warned several times to stop acting like a petulant brat. I voted for this

The only sad part of this shutdown is congress is still getting paid and the troops are not.

Then again if they’re getting paid, there is no rush to open government again.

I absolutely agree with what he’s doing.

I, too, voted for this; and I wouldn’t change my vote. X 2!!

He’s a jerk. I wouldn’t want to work for him. But I would hire him to run my business.

And I did!

The first time I voted for Trimp, all I wamted was a conservative SCOTUS justice. I got three of them !

This time, I am hoping for another one or two justices. I voted for this !

I always thought of Trump as a really slick, reasonably honest used car salesman. But after his first election, where I did vote for him, he showed himself to be the first politician in my 78 year lifetime to at least TRY to produce what he promised. As others have said, if he had been reelected in 2020, the communist left could have kept his agenda under control with their fellow travelers in DC. But they could not wait and screwed the pooch royally by putting Biden in, under Obamaos control. oops. Now reelected (thank God) and knowing what and how things were/are done in DC, he is the proverbial ‘bull in the china shop’ that I wishfully voted for. And I’m loving every minute of it. The midterm elections will show if it is possible to save America from our slumber/stupidity. Demoncrats not voted out? This country is history and fast.
