More USPS Incompetence

My mail saga continues. There is a knock at the door today. I open it to see the owner of the landscaping company that mows my lawn. We see him all over the place, at parties, friends homes, restaurants. (It’s a small town) Anyhow, he hands me a package that he found on the side of the road about a mile away from here. It’s addressed to my wife. It looks like its been outside for awhile, as it is pretty weathered.

I look up the tracking number, and USPS says it was delivered a week ago.

Delivered (or not) by the same government that wants to be in charge of delivering your healthcare.

Temperatures

We have been getting high heat advisories from the NWS every day for weeks. I recently saw a blogger (I’m sorry I can’t remember who) that was observing that these advisories seem to be trying to scare everyone into a climate hysteria, even though it’s this hot every year.

I have records. Let’s take a look. I have a personal weather station on the top of my house. The same exact station has been up there since July 31, 2019 when the previous station was taken out by lightning. Let’s take a look at the last four years to see what the weather has been like:

July 24, 2023

HighLowAverage
Temperature88.7 °F75.2 °F78.4 °F

July 24, 2022

HighLowAverage
Temperature96.6 °F73.9 °F81.9 °F

July 24, 2021

HighLowAverage
Temperature92.1 °F72.9 °F81.2 °F

July 24, 2020

HighLowAverage
Temperature103.3 °F71.2 °F83.6 °F

So it’s actually a bit cooler today than it has been in years past.

Vivek Ramaswamy

I was listening the radio the other day, and the host was interviewing Vivek Ramaswamy. A lot of the things he had to say made sense to me. I thought to myself that I could easily vote for him.

Then I found out that he believes it’s wrong to kill animals for “culinary pleasure” (i.e. eating them). Holding an opinion like that is a deal breaker for me in a Presidential candidate. Why? If he really believes that it is wrong to kill and eat animals, he will be willing to pass and support laws and policies that make it more difficult to eat meat.

I also don’t think it will matter. I think that the elections going forward are rigged, but will continue to vote anyway, because I may be wrong and it costs me virtually nothing to do so.

More on Super Safety

So a question was raised, asking if this super safety is similar to the Forced Reset Trigger that the ATF already decided was a machine gun. The ATF has deliberately reworded the statute in order to make it more to their advantage:

On March 25th, 2022 the ATF raided Rare Breed Trigger’s vendor and inhibited them from shipping triggers. Currently, the ATF is trying to classify these triggers themselves as a machine gun. The ATF issued an open letter to Federal Firearms Licensees on March 22 of this year. If you don’t have the time or inclination the read the letter about Forced Reset Triggers, the important part is below:

“ATF’s examination found that some FRT devices allow a firearm to automatically expel more than one shot with a single, continuous pull of the trigger. For this reason, ATF has concluded that FRTs that function in this way are a combination of parts designed and intended for use in converting a weapon into a machine gun, and hence, ATF has classified these devices as a ‘machine gun’ as defined by the NFA and GCA.”

“Accordingly, ATF’s position is that any FRT that allows a firearm to automatically expel more than one shot with a single, continuous pull of the trigger is a ‘machine gun,’ and is accordingly subject to the GCA prohibitions regarding the possession, transfer, and transport of machine guns. They are also subject to registration, transfer, taxation, and possession restrictions under the NFA.”

You will note that ATF even states that Congress defined a machine gun as:

Any weapon which shoots, is designed to shoot, or can be readily restored to shoot, automatically more than one shot without manual reloading, by a single function of the trigger

The ATF has engaged in some linguistic gymnastics to say:

FRT devices allow a firearm to automatically expel more than one shot with a single, continuous pull of the trigger.

Note that this isn’t what the statute says. Why is this important?

The FRT, Bump stocks, and the Super Safety all cause the operator of the weapon to hold their finger in position so that the recoil of the weapon causes the shooter’s finger to pull the trigger very quickly.

  • In the case of the Bump stock, the entire weapon is moving.
  • With the FRT, a spring is forcing the trigger to reset by using the bolt to push the trigger forward
  • The Super Safety is using the motion of the bolt to engage and disengage the safety, which on the AR will reset the trigger. The rate of fire is about 400 rounds per minute. Seems fast until you realize that the cyclic rate of the M-16 and the M-249 are right about 800 rounds per minute.

The ATF is going to go after any device that causes rapid fire. The way that an AR’s fire control system works means that it is fairly easy to modify for rapid fire that comes in about half the rate of FA. The ATF would declare all AR’s as machine guns if they thought they could get away with it.

Tired

I usually write my posts the night before they appear. As I write this, I just got home from a 12 hour shift in the pediatric emergency room. The shift before that was in the acute unit of the main ED. I got attacked by a suicidal, unmedicated schizophrenic. I am still sore. Also this week, I went to my CCRN (Critical Care RN) course on two of those days.

I also have to work a 12 hour shift on Saturday from 10:00 to 22:30.

I am exhausted and don’t have it in me to research and write a post right now, so I am going to bed and there may or may not be a post for Saturday. With my long hours on Saturday, there may or may not be one on Sunday.

It’s not going to get any better. I’m trying to finish my masters degree, build a house, and move into that house. All within the next 4-6 months.

So all of you- enjoy your weekend.

They Want to Kill You

The Root is a black news and opinion website. It bills itself as “Black News and Black Views with a Whole Lotta Attitude.” Do you want to know what black people are saying? Read this article, titled “Whiteness is a pandemic.

White supremacy is a virus that, like other viruses, will not die until there are no bodies left for it to infect. Which means the only way to stop it is to locate it, isolate it, extract it, and kill it.

You say, “but he is talking about white supremacy, not white people.” Nope. Read his definition:

gentrification, to red-lining, to racial profiling, to gerrymandering, to voter oppression, to mass incarceration, to the war on drugs, to the subprime mortgage crisis, to the vast disparities in both COVID deaths and who receives COVID vaccinations, to how the men and women who stormed the capitol just went home and had dinner with their families afterward.

  • Gentrification is another word for “improving slums and making them livable.”
  • Racial profiling? Guilty. When half of all violent crime is committed by 1/8 of the population, that’s where you concentrate your law enforcement efforts.
  • COVID is racist?
  • The jab was free to anyone who wanted it. How does blacks not getting the jab have anything to do with white people?
  • .How many black people were killed at the Capitol? Zero.

He clearly wants whites to be the scapegoat for all that ails the black race. Including for the death of his mother. Was she murdered? He says that she was. No, she died of lung cancer cancer, but he says that, if his mother had been white, she would have lived. He comes right out and says it, that if his mother had been a white woman, she would have gotten better medical care and would still be alive. There is no way to reason with or talk to someone who is that biased and racist. He wants you dead because you are white, and are thus responsible for every bad thing that happens. To anyone, but especially to him, and his mother- who received a full ride scholarship to Carnegie Mellon University, thanks to white people and affirmative action.

He isn’t some unknown hack writer. Noe, Damon Young writes for the Washington Post, GQ, and the New York Times. He is a well known liberal member of the MSM. And he hates you.

Don’t you understand? There are people that have declared war on you, and you are at war, whether or not you know it, or want to be. He bitches about black people being killed by whites, but ignores the fact that 88% of black homicide victims are killed by other black people. (In fact, 49% of ALL homicide victims are killed by black people, but that is a discussion for another day.)

Fake Video

There is another video of ATF agents supposedly visiting a gun owner, this time because he did a search for FRTs on Gunbroker, but didn’t purchase one:

If you will remember, there was another fake video posted just two months ago, and I blogged about it at the time. In this latest video, you see that it was posted by a Twitter user with the handle “Reno May” who identifies himself as a “Social media influencer” and claims that it is totally the real deal, and he has verified it himself.

Excuse me if I don’t believe some internet rando with no gun community chops that I have never heard of before. His Twitter account is nothing but posts trying to sell protein powder and cheap gun parts. His main advertiser is PSA. I think he is trying to chase people away from Gunbroker so he can get more sales.

Just Pay Them

Meet Herman Grim, who was just awarded $2,055,383 from New York State. Why? Because black people failed an objective test called the National Teacher Examination more often than other races. Mr. Grim failed “many times.”

The assumption made is that black people are just as intelligent and well educated as other races, including Asians, Hispanics, and Whites, even while objective test after test proves that this is not so. Still, it isn’t politically correct to believe these tests, so the only possible explanation must be that the tests are all biased against blacks. Therefore, the state has to pay black people because they are obviously not incapable of learning.

Grim said he’s in disbelief but the money can’t come fast enough because he’s racked up serious debt on his Queens home and credit cards. He couldn’t recite examples of why the test was biased. But Grim recalled hiring private tutors and studying for it during the early 1990s, before failing many times.

In all, this lawsuit cost the taxpayers of New York $225 million.

Nope, math is racist. The SAT is racist. Exams are racist. Credit scores are racist. There, I fixed everything.
