Blogs aren’t really news, because they don’t have editors to make sure that they are factually correct. The MSM is so much more factual, because they constantly fact check themselves, and no, the picture isn’t the problem.
The problem is that every single one of the five rifles is currently in use and is roughly a 5.56mm. No mention of the Mauser, or even the Mosin Nagant. More than 100 million copies of those weapons were made, and they have been used in virtually every armed conflict for about 100 years, including two world wars.

Is that the shell casing supposedly coming out of the barrel?

I’m not familiar with that magazine, but it fits neatly with the modern trend that there IS NO HISTORY – nothing of any import happened before us and there is no need for us to pay attention to it. I guess one could argue that the modern M4 is more deadly today than, say, a Brown Bess musket, but in terms of total battlefield kills in their respective eras I’d argue that maybe not. But then again, what should you expect from what is essentially a click-bait style article?

Clever way they made the gun eject the brass out the barrel. Only editors are allowed to do that.

If you read the article, it explains that. It’s legit.

Interesting article… But are they limiting it to weapons currently in use by the major powers? As you mentioned there have been some weapons used for a LONG time spanning 2 World Wars that I would argue have had far more success over a much longer period of time… But I was just an engineer, what would I know…

The title says “to ever fire a shot”

Interesting shot timing! The camera even captured the 5.56 brass cartridge crimped in its midsection–typical of that rifle on full auto (annoying to me ’cause I reload and those crimps don’t fully disappear despite full resizing).
The .308 is a great caliber; flat trajectory, awesome terminal ballistics, a kinetic beast. Reloads easily too. The grunts used to use it but it was switched out for the lighter 5.56 so a grunt could carry the rifle & (?5?) full mags. But it was a substitute for accurate single fire. The grunts did the ole’ “spray & pray,” LOL.

I want that rifle! It apparently fires miniature missles.

NI is a reliable source of shallow crap, badly researched and presented worse. Probably quite popular. Swap out your brain for a cauliflower before perusing.
7mm Mauser made quite an impression on The British Empire back when that was impressive. The Mauser action was good enough to be pirated by the USA, and closely imitated and almost adopted by The Brits except for a little conniption called WW Part 1. They were going a little too hot with .276 Enfield, but so also The Krauts with 7×64. The Swiss made an enduringly joybringing thing of beauty with the GP11 7.5×55. The Nips had a street sleeper in the 6.5 Arisaka, and spoilt it with a rim, but not before rabbitholing into Federov’s creditable attempt at an assault rifle, and also proving quietly nasty on its own. The Scandi’s had the delightful 6.5×55, with many attempts of late to do exactly the same thing, only different but the same but another way not really different. The 5.45×39 is indeed much better than 5.56×45, just compare recoil and proven projectiles…ask a live Ukroid if one is available. No advances and indeed some retreats since Stoner in the 50’s, but the beetroot suckers have been busy developing tasty treats like the AK12. The new superpressure almost-7.62 NATO-almost-.30-06 wonderbanger will not suffice to provide M14-like universality to the genderbendy orthochromatic diversionites mincing about under the thtars and thtwipes…the survivors and spectators may eventually recognise and admit that real warriors are weapons in and of themselves, and the utilised arms are merely tools, from the Mk 1 rock to the .45-70 and even the .22 lr (proven elephant killer, and everything else). Statistically, the humble arrow shot from a bow is still deadlier than a modern hv rifle bullet. Ask Dr Ashby. Hopefully NI prints on soft, strong absorbent three ply, suitable for septic systems.

THX for the history lesson, Sv.
While not a “precision rifle,” my Benelli M4 12 ga is a vicious home defender. A true Beast.

Remind those folks the most feared part of the armies of old, were The Archers. Guns and other good stuff let everybody in on the action, but the archers were deadly. A skill that is dead silent, with no time to react, and the “shot” was truly a kill shot because a well placed arrow does massive damage. The Left always thinks history isn’t important…..

DAMN!. Where can I get a AR that shoots projectiles like that?!?

Do you happen to have a side job as a standup comedian? You’re funny. ;-))
