The left are experts on everything. Now they hit every wrong answer on use of force in the comments here:

  • Just shoot to wound
  • shoot/use club to knock knife out of hand
  • only shoot once, all he has is a knife
  • he is too far away to hurt anyone
  • he is outnumbered and the cops have body armor. The cops should Taser or tackle him

That’s as far as I could get before spraining my eye from rolling it so hard. This is a group of people who have never tried to deescalate a crazy or intoxicated person. This is why women and maggots shouldn’t be able to vote- they don’t reason, they emote.

Keep a foot in the forest.

I wonder if this was a case of suicide by cop ?

No one with any sense advances on armed cops with a weapon unless they have a death wish.

It used to be called suicide by cop. RIP

DiveMedic,

First of all, thanks for your blog.
Question: what changed in that situation that caused one or more of the retreating officers to open fire after at least a minute of containment/retreat?
I don’t see them running out of room and I don’t see the guy with the knife accelerating. Perhaps something he said or someone could see his eyes dilate pre-attack.
I feel that if I did the same thing in that situation, I would be charged with murder, although I allow much more leeway for law enforcement than I do for “us”. We can at least try to walk away. They, if they are true, will not walk away.
I’m interested to hear what you think. Thanks again for the blog.

I can’t see that the retreating officers aren’t running out of space, but somehow you can? What happens if he retreats them all the way beyond the vehicles, or positions himself with spectators downrange? It sounds like tasers had already been ineffective.

Both those being said, in parts of Europe and Asia they have man-trap poles similar to those already in use here by animal control for situations like this.

Having been in law enforcement (20 years, retired) I can say this was a justified shooting.

sar_scarab · February 28, 2026 at 7:39 pm

A little excessive on my book., but the way things are going it will only get worse on both sides.

The best one was the dude wanting the cops to tranquilize him.

50 years ago, in 1976, a single cop with a night stick would have dropped him like a used rubber.
Now, it takes 9-10 shots from roided up glamor bois and dykes with no concern where those bullets ended up in that urban environment.

In his book, “More Guns, Less Crime”, Professor John Lott claims you are 13 times MORE likely to be shot by a law enforcement officer than a fellow citizen. I’ve never had nor will I ever have any use for gov’t employees.

    Thumb up.

“he is outnumbered and the cops have body armor”
Body armor works against bullets…knives are a different story.
Unless you happen to strike a plate, that blade has a good chance to strike home. The side armor or above the plate, (if worn), are prime targets.

The cops in this video murdered an the old man. Killing that old man was wrong. The pissant cops were in no danger and need to be prosecuted for murder. The punk bastard that pulled the trigger needs to pay the price.

Tsgt Joe · March 1, 2026 at 7:50 pm

Amazing how we can look at the same vid and reach radically different conclusions. I noticed that with the vids of pretti and goods fatal encounters. That was justified- that was murder.

A person who agrees with me 80% of the time is an ally and a friend, not a 20% enemy.

Old Maine Farmer · March 2, 2026 at 5:33 pm

I have noticed what Tsgt Joe says; people look at the same videos and come to opposite conclusions. I tend to give police the credit of the doubt, but even if it didn’t have to happen doesn’t mean it is murder.
