Many on the right AND the left are melting down because the MSM is reporting that Trump is letting the Qatar government build an airbase in Idaho. This is pure, 3D level bullshit.
First, it isn’t an operational base. It’s a training facility located within the US Air Force Base in Mountain Home, Idaho. That base has been used for decades as a training facility for US allies to train their pilots to fly aircraft that they have purchased from the US. Singapore was there before Qatar as the 428th Fighter Squadron, flying the F-15.
Second, this deal was made as a part of a purchase agreement that was signed eight years ago as a part of a $12 billion deal where Qatar paid for 36 F-15 fighters, with the option to double that number to 72 aircraft. The deal included the aircraft, weapons, maintenance support, spare parts, ground support equipment, and TRAINING on all of the above. This facility is part of the training for this equipment.
Stop freaking out. The US has done this for DECADES. There is nothing nefarious going on. Good Lord, you would think people would know by now that the MSM is lying.

I would respectfully disagree with your assessment. While you are right in that this has been going on for a long time, it has always been a bad idea when the fundamental beliefs of the country are opposed to our existence. In the 1990’s I flew with and trained Brits, Israelis, French, Italian in flight test; great idea, great pilots, and good folk. But I also had to fly with, flight test and demo aircraft and weapons systems for other countries, Islamic countries, whose book requires either total subjugation, forced conversion, or death of non-Islamic states and individuals. These countries and pilots would not hesitate to use the best equipment we sell them to kill us. Most of them cannot fly their way out of a paper bag, but still, we actually gave them aircraft and equipment better than what we have system wise, and I have no doubt they will use it against us one day. Not to mention that they try to force their sharia bs onto us as we sell them our best stuff. We are selling them the rope to hang us with.
Also, if these folk free range on such a base, imagine the damage they could quickly do if they wanted to. Read an old, true version of the Koran and imagine you believed it. Osama bin Laden was not a radical, he was just following the Koran. Deception is also a part of jihad. Not a good idea folks. I’m afraid we will soon find out. F-15’s, F/A-18’s, etc. should never be given to such nations; such a bad idea.

Whoa there, buddy! Sounds like someone needs a chill pill and maybe to take a gander at the big picture here. Were talking about training facilities, folks, not a secret military base for world domination (even though that sounds kinda cool). The US has been doing this sort of thing for ages; its like the military equivalent of summer camp, but with way more high-tech gear. And lets not forget the ever-reliable MSM, always ready to stir the pot with some fake news. Honestly, its exhausting trying to keep up with all the drama. Maybe we should just sit back, enjoy the show, and remember that sometimes, the truth is far less exciting than the stuff we make up in our heads.

Weve been setting up shop everywhere for practice sessions for decades. Qatars just joining the club. If you think theres some grand conspiracy because were teaching folks how to fly fancy jets, well, youre probably watching too much Fake News. Good grief, maybe we *should* be worried about the cat videos, not this!

When I was stationed at Williams AFB east of Phoenix, AZ back in the early ’70s the base was training Iranian pilots. They stayed in the same dorm as the comms and electronic tech guys. They were a bit aloof at first but after you got to know them we had fun teaching each other curse words. We didn’t hang out with them or anything though. They trained on the T37 and T38. Just a step or so above entry level.

Itr not like they could actually pick it up and take it back to Qatar. As long as it isn’t allowed to be used for espionage and other nefarious activities it’s no big deal. The problem is such places and plans invariably get corrupted into things that are bad for the US.

I trained at Ft. Bliss, TX some years ago. Germany and Japan have space there for training. A noticeable number of German restaurants in the El Paso area. There is (or was) a small contingent of German paratroopers in the US. Their mission? Among other things to travel around and conduct parachute jumps so that US soldiers can earn German wings…that’s how I got mine. Lots of foreign military train in the US. There are foreign officers in most of the Army’s professional schools. I once saw a Russian LT wandering around Fort Bragg, LOL.

Sadly, most folks read headlines, form their mental image and believe what the headline cites. This is why modern MSM reporting takes great pains to bury details way down the column and preferably on page 5 or beyond, ensuring details are there for CYA events but never read. Of course, if it is TV they just omit any mention of what they do not want known. Lies by omission every frigging day. Cheers.
