The Chinese had a military parade. It wasn’t intended for the Chinese. How do you know? None of the items in the parade were numbered with Chinese letters or numbers.

Interesting. I looked up the weapons in your pix and some others . The “LY-1” is public unveiling of a high-energy laser system designed primarily for air-defense against drones, missiles, and potentially targeting sensors on aircraft. The closest western comps are ship-based. so if these really work it’s something the west does not have currently deployed.
The “JL-3” missiles are actually submarine-launched intercontinentals with MIRVs called Julang-3s. range is 10,000-12,000km. Said to be on 6 Chinese boomers and will be on every new sub.
Who knows about their performance. The UK tried to test-fire one of its Tridents in 2024 and its first-stage boosters failed, dropping it near the sub in front of the U.K’s Defence Secretary. It was the second consecutive test failure (2016). the last successful Trident launch was in 2012.
Also unveiled at the parade was the YJ‑17 (Eagle Strike‑17), hypersonic anti-ship ballistic missile incorporating a hypersonic glide vehicle (HGV) mounted atop a rocket booster. If it works as advertised western navies have no counter to it.
also shown was the Jinglei‑1, a two-stage, solid-fuel air-launched ballistic missile (hypersonic) with an estimated maximum range of 3,500 to 4,500 KM carrying nukes or conventional warheads.
West does not have an equivalent. Similar to Russia’s Kinzal
I imagine Western analysts are putting in plenty of OT figuring out the capabilities of all this new hardware.
Whats really funny is how many of their weapons are American designs. I guess we now know why Bill Gates had his cloud DOD computer systems servers contract serviced by CCP Chinese engineers.
Whats even funnier is they improved the designs and got multiple systems to work that the US had canceled out due to failures.. I.E. Hyper sonic missiles and Thorium reactors among others.
