There is a segment of the left that wants a civil war. There is also one on the right that wants one. Both of those groups are delusional, because they both think the war will be short, and they will win.

Both sides are wrong. If there were a CW2 with similar casualty rates as the first one, we would see something on the order of 7 to 8 million dead and another million wounded. The majority of those deaths would be from disease and famine, not guns.
Still, this guy is a tool. They seem to think they will all be sitting in coffee shops, watching the military carry out their orders to wipe out their own families on CNN.
The reality will be much different. Cities would become disease infested wastelands once electric and water are cut off, and food deliveries stop. Some military units will simply desert their posts, taking weapons and gear with them. It would quickly degenerate into sectarian warfare.
No one really wins in such a scenario.

Furthermore, v2 won’t be a “capture the flag” event like v1 was. No matter which side “wins”, there won’t be an America afterwards.

Neither evil nor stupidity cares, death and destruction is the desire of both. To a Christian, Satan is walking this country and loving it.

All the brains, as exemplified by people like AOC and Tim Walz. All the virtues, as exemplified by baby killing and child maiming. All the troops, except most come from red areas.
People have no idea how bad version one was, and no comprehension that version two will be orders of magnitude worse.

You nailed it. Typical commies… I’ll sit around writing shitty poetry whilst someone else toils in the fields.
The fact is its almost understandable. Cities in America have never really been threatened. The trucker-strike in Canada almost came close to causing some real problems for them, hence why they cracked down and crushed it. You’ll see it here, but leviathan ain’t stupid. They still ship everything through Memphis, despite the rampant theft. Donny-boy’s guaranteeing oil will flow throught the Strait…. Leviathan.
If we do hit spicy time however, I agree, ideologically, the countryside will begin to shut off the cities, there’ll be crying, and in true commie-fashion, they’ll break out the troops to secure it, if need be.

So FEW have a good grasp of history……
From The Patriot
“Benjamin Martin emphasizes that the war will not be fought on distant battlefields, but right in their own homes, among their families. He warns the South Carolina Assembly: “This war will be fought not on the frontier or on some distant battlefield, but amongst us — among our homes. Our children will learn of it with their own eyes. And the innocent will die with the rest of us.” His statement reflects his deep fear of the war’s personal cost and the inevitable violence that will spill into civilian life.”

It always amuses me that the Lefties ASSUME that the military will blindly follow their orders.
It’s probably because none of them have ever served in the military or know anyone who has served in the military.
If a Civil War happened, just like in the 1st Civil War, the military would split.
It would be Bosnia 2.0 x 1000, a nightmare. Let us pray that day never comes.

“All the Brains” Grossly underestimating his enemy.
“All the virtue” No hubris here at all.
“All the cities” As you said, He is mistaking their biggest weakness as a strength.
“..more troops then they have ever seen.” I can only assume he is talking about the millions of illegals here. and by extension the gangs and cartels. He may even be thinking of the Chinese armed forces on top of that. None of those parties is likely to have much use for his kind if events get that far. A collapsed and ruined America is the end of the cartel markets for everything they traffic in. It is also the end of the free lunch for millions of illegals that are economic looters posing as refugees. The trans national gangs may stay and try looting as long as they can, but it will be increasingly difficult to be engaged in theft and robbery when everything of value has been stolen or burned down already. The famine conditions gripping the land will leave little time and inclination to tolerate roving gangs of foreigners. They will likely be shot on sight anyplace they are not part of an ethnic majority. China will likely sit back and watch and come exploit the land and resources when the ashes cool off after a few years.

There you go, being sensible…
I’m old enough to remember the late 1960’s into the early 1970’s, with the Weather Undergound, the Black Panthers, Symbionese Liberation Army, etc., ad nauseum.(And that’s just the U.S. – – need I mention the Black September, Irish Republican Army, etc.???) It’s ugly, brutal, and innocent people get hurt, maimed and killed, and their families suffer. Once polarized political positions are cemented into place, people stop listening to each other and demonize everyone who disagrees with them, it’s a deadly spiral. Nobody really wins.

“…We’ll have to completely rebuild our cities…”
.
Cities are unsustainable.
Everything is trucked in, they export ‘laws’ and other nincompoopery.
2026, most cities are ghost-towns masquerading as something important once upon a time.
.
We operate a small organic teaching farm near the outskirts of Eugene Oregon.
Neither I nor any of our neighbors see any point to cities.
.
Fact is, we like the idea of city-states.
We fence them in, charge them a reasonable common-sense fee to transit to some other city-state.
We charge a reasonable common-sense fee for using our rain and utilities.
.
For garbage and sewage, they are on their own.
TRX · March 9, 2026 at 7:09 pm
Cities are a relic of bad transport and bad communications. The need for them has passed.
What’s interesting is how many people seem to have their entire worldview wrapped up in “city”, to the point of advocating that rural dwellers be forcibly relocated to urban hamster hives, because it’s *necessary*. Though they’ll never say why, of course.
McChuck · March 4, 2026 at 1:00 pm
I believe the war is coming, will we or nil we. The alternative is to accept our own genocide.
If the war comes, I believe it will reduce our population to that of a century ago. We’ll have to completely rebuild our cities after we spend a decade destroying them.
It’s still better than the alternative. At least we’ll have a chance.
TRX · March 4, 2026 at 2:30 pm
150 years ago people lived a lot closer to the land. Specifically, they weren’t dependent on interstate or international supply chains to stay alive.
That’s not true any more.

The USA Military is giving a demonstration right now of what they do. But despite their fancy tools, CW2 will quickly degenerate into a guerilla war, a quagmire war that the world has never seen the depths of before.
Anonymous · March 4, 2026 at 4:59 pm
I agree with your statements. People seem to think it will be a shooting match. It won’t. It will be a war of attrition with famine and disease as you state. The winner, if there is one, will be those that survive and can rebuild. The posters claimed brains will be of little value. Rebuilding will require the skills of tradesmen, the folks the left looks down upon.

Whenever people talk about what a “civil war” might be like I tell them it will be nothing like a “Hollywood” civil war. The totally fictional entertainment you see on TV or in the movies. It will be much more like what is shown in the short movie called “Elephant” made by Alan Clarke in 1989.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoqnphLAEpg
That’s what a real civil war look like. For most people killed. Even in places like Yugoslavia in the 1990’s. Majority of people died in one on one killings.
One online comment about the movie “Elephant” was – “this is just one killing after another. No context. No reason”. And my reply was – “Yeah. That’s exactly how it is”. People killed because they were “the other side”. Or not “our side”. No other reason.
All the sectarian murders dramatized in the Clarke film were real cases. Real killings of real people. Reconstructed as recorded in the police evidence of each case. All the victims were killed purely because of what they were. Not who they were. The “wrong” religion in most cases. The “wrong” political opinions in the res.
This was the “Troubles” in Northern Ireland from the 1960’s to the 1990’s. Thousands were killed. To give idea just how many were killed during this time as a percentage of the population it was the equivalent of 500K people being killed in the US. With the equivalent of over 7 million injured.
And this was a low intensity civil war that lasted 30 years with a very effective police and military presence. But with a terrorist group with huge financial help from supporters in the US, a large organized crime income, and a constant supply of weapons and explosives from radical anti-Western Middle Eastern governments and terrorist groups.
So if anything kicks off in the US it will be much more like “Elephant” for those who die than anything shown in that stupid movie from 2024 or all other Hollywood fantasies.
Real civil wars in modern societies are very nasty. And very personal. And very very brutal.
Earl Harding · March 5, 2026 at 8:34 am
I came here to say much the same thing, but you said it far better than I could. I still have relatives in the old country and have more first-hand experience of “The Troubles” than most in the US.
Very nasty, very personal and very very brutal sums it up perfectly.
@HomeInSC · March 4, 2026 at 7:13 pm

He’s an actor and director. He makes his living in a world of dramatic fiction and has never soldiered a day in his life, so it only makes sense that he is a subject matter expert here. I like the way you summed it up though
John in Indy · March 5, 2026 at 4:53 am
Thanks for the article, and for keeping a place where relevant comments are possible ans available.
The idiot, like a lot of Prog / totalitarians, is cheering for a “let’s you and him fight” expecting that he will be able to sit with his latte and watch, like the day-trippers coming out from DC to watch the battles in CW one.
If the sh*t well and truly hits the fan, what is available of our military will be busy trying to keep a lid on the cities, and to keep the distribution chains open, tasks for which they are too few.
Personal survival, intact, may depend more on where we are than how well prepared we are, though preparation is vital, as is locating local resource producers, like farmers, dairies, egg farms, ranchers, etc.
If possible, teach / inform your local Sheriff that if TSHTF, he may have to be the center around which local civilization may have to organize, to protect people, resources, and property as well as may be possible.
The map “Purple America” shows the political intermixture that will make CW2 much more like Bosnia, the Kansas-Missouri Border War, the Spanish Civil War, or the Troubles, though both of the latter had a LOT of outside input and control.
I hope that we don’t have to suffer this, but that would be relying on intelligence, while human stupidity is far more prevalent.
Aesop · March 5, 2026 at 9:09 am
Very, very few on the right want a civil war, self included.
But a huge number on the right recognize its inevitability. Because you can’t negotiate with terrorists.
Those are not the same thing.
How long it lasts quickly devolves to a game of how compassionate the right is willing to be. If they go Viking early, it lasts about a week, before you can’t find any more Leftards to shoot or string up. O frabjous day! Callou! Callay!
The real danger is going all squishy “compassionate warrior”. This is why Patton’s “balls to the wall” approach saves casualties in the long run.
Pray for the modern-day equivalents of Grant, Sherman, and Sheridan, and a modern-day March Through Leftism that makes Sherman’s March To The Sea look like a church picnic, and things are back to normal (with a 1950-sized population base) in less than a season.
Slow-walking it, OTOH, drags it out until we have something like 70% casualties from famine and disease.
In any event, the military will, quite sensibly, lock down, stand down, and wait for a winner, rather than self-destruct by joining the fray. Otherwise they cease to exist in between 72 and 168 hours. The only way they continue in existence is by consciously focusing on external threats exclusively, to avoid fratricide.
That means this becomes a cage match, which favors – and nearly demands – a decisive early end. The Left can’t do that, so the only question remaining is whether or not the right will have the fortitude to go ugly early, or manifest the stupidity to not do so.
Elrod · March 5, 2026 at 11:07 am
Anyone advocating for a U.S. Civil War should look closely at what life was like in Sarajevo in the early- to mid-1990s, then superimpose that on LA, NYC, Baltimore, Cincinnatti, Dallas, Atlanta, et al, then talk to some of the US military members who were there.
That does not mean one should not be prepared for The Festivities, only that preparation also includes “talking the idiots out of it.”
bear in Indy · March 5, 2026 at 5:37 pm
Time to “get it on,” or figure a way without a war on ourselves.
My bet is, the ChiComs will help the left win, and then divide the country into provinces, they will control by proxy or direct control, depending on the region.
The Communists already have a significant presence in Canada, as the Canadian government has cowed it’s own Citizens into accepting domination, prescribed by the leftist’s government.
Don’t expect any help from Europe or or Mexico. Reconcista in the southwest, is the prize for Mexico’s involvement. Europeans are already dominated by Islamist.

This Color Revolution is indeed sponsored from overseas “interests”.
Worst of all even if it goes full retard all China has to do is watch the show from a distance via satellites until the last few lights are gone for a month or so.
NO NEED to risk the few male Chinese in actual combat that way.
China thinks in decades, after a couple of years the scattered survivors will be drone bait and the messes mother nature will clean up.
Aesop · March 7, 2026 at 10:00 am
Get serious. If NYFS had the option to wall off NYFC, if Illinois could wall off Chicongo, and GA could wall off Atlanta, And Califrutopia could put a barrier wall on the west side of I-5, and those areas no longer participated in voting or elections because they were under medieval siege, the question wouldn’t be “should we?”, it would become whether or not napalming those inside the barriers to speed up the extinction was ethical and moral, and in most cases the answer would be “Hell yeah!” in about 5 seconds. And Leftism would become the Whigs of the 21st century. If not the French nobility circa 1789.
China can’t project power 100 miles to Taiwan. Imagining they’d do f**k-all 5000 miles away is simply silly. They’re going to mind their own business, and focus on expanding power via Panda Express and WalMrt, not Mao’s Little Red Book.
Mexico? As if. They’re too busy shootin each other up. The absolute last thing they want to do is kick off a round of Cowboys vs. Mexicans. 1848 still stings, and 50M rednecks with guns would be in a conga line of pick-up trucks headed south that would make the 1848 war look like a church social, and make Mexican Americans north of the border an extinct minority in about three months. An army whose skin is it’s meatsuit doesn’t do them any favors.
Like Iran, the Left has been fomenting a civil war for decades, because they’ve convinced themselves they’re ready for that, and can win.
And one of these days, just like residents in Gaza and Tehran, they’re going to find out what happens when the dog finally catches that car.
Divemedic · March 7, 2026 at 4:00 pm
I agree that China’s military isn’t as much for invading other nations as much as it is to keep other countries at arm’s length while China uses economic leverage to buy what it wants.
China’s real advantage is the large population working long hours as virtual slaves for a relatively small group of rich elites whose lives are spent jetting around the world living like Paris Hilton.
Michael · March 7, 2026 at 7:33 pm
May I inquire about the issues of Logistics here?
One of the first things to be damaged in a civil war is things like Fuel distribution, Power Grids, food distribution, sewage plants and drinking water.
Kind of hard to protect them as they are quite scattered around, and water purification chemicals are just in time delivery as they degrade in storage. Yeah, my neighbor works in the town water system.
You don’t even have to destroy them, just make it crazy dangerous to leave your home defenseless while you drive through potential ambush roads to WORK.
A fair number of my neighbors have wells, very few hand pumps. So, losing grid power MIGHT become a water issue like it is every so often with Nor’easters. HOW will the power crews safely leave their families and work at various sites to restore power EVEN IF the power plants are still running?
So how is that conga line of pickups full of cowboys going to find fuel for their hunting expedition?
Who’s going to be at their homes protecting their families?
How long before lack of sanitation and safe drinking water is going to create medieval levels of dysentery and such?
I ponder how safe those semi-trucks full of really great stuff like food and fuel will be protected driving across your skinsuit war?
A civil war plus some support here and there from outside sources like China will render most of America a desolation as the lights goes out and we kill each other over a bag of food.

Lots of people are laughing about the brains and virtue comment. It’s being mislabeled, it’s pure raw emotion let loose. Think about this though: you see how they act in “normal times”? Street animals just barely keeping their violent urges in check.
Now apply WROL and these people will absolutely revel in violence and murder. They will lash out. None of them have any moral restrictions whatsoever, and they are waiting for the worst acts to become acceptable.
