A man sprayed his own HIV positive blood into the eyes of two hospital staff members. He was given time served- just 91 days in jail.
Criminals are being permitted to attack people with impunity. I’ve been attacked at work twice in the last 5 years, and they got away with it in both cases.

This happened in Raleigh North Carolina. This used to be a very, very conservative town. At this point, that whole county is Democrat run. And not just regular old Southern Democrats who would vote Democrat for the sheriff but also vote for Ronald Reagan and Jesse Helms.
The current people running the city and the county are basically socialists who never met a criminal they didn’t like.
I’m from Raleigh, but I’m glad that I moved about an hour away out in the country. It is no longer the pleasant burg that I grew up in.
God Bless all of you emergency department types you have to work in such a dangerous and dispiriting environment. I am glad my wife is teaching nursing now instead of working at the hospital ED we met which is across town from this one and which normally gets this sort of shitbird in their ED.

Sounds like a “high hazard environment” where wearing a mask and safety glasses/goggles on duty would be a smart move. Does the hospital provide PPE ?
