An article in Time magazine engages in some serious pearl clutching when they note that armed, private security is replacing the power vacuum left behind by the police that have been defunded all over the nation’s blue cities.
He seems unaware of the flutter of anxiety spreading through the store as customers see his weapon, handcuffs, and bulletproof vest. But if anyone asked, which they don’t, he’d assure them that he’s there for their own good, even though it’s hard to be relaxed in the presence of a loaded gun.
I thought that the left has claimed for decades that the only people who should have guns are the police, licensed security guards, and the military? The press certainly has no problem with their own, unlicensed security guards gunning down and killing people, nor do they have a problem when those guards get off scott free because the local DA is a known Antifa member.
Here is the naked truth: the police are there to first protect the public from criminals. When they begin, as they have in the country, to protect the government instead of the people, the people will find ways to protect themselves. It may be with paid security, or it may be with armed vigilance committees. This is also why the police have a second function: to protect the rights of accused criminals to have a fair, impartial trial. When the people form their own protection units, you get lynchings, which are soon followed by the anarchy of might makes right.
That’s where we are, the people are thoroughly disgusted with their government and are taking things into their own hands. I believe that this is being done on purpose as one of the tenets of the CIA Insurgent Manual. To be successful, and insurgency that wishes to overthrow the government must force the government to fail in providing basic services like police. The insurgents then step in and provide those services. “We can protect you from this violence, because the government can’t”
We are currently staring into the abyss.

The police protecting criminals is an enormous problem. The system coddles poor dindu nuffins arrested dozens of times until some man steps up and defends himself, and that man more likely than not is thrown to the wolves by that system that claims to protect him while doing nothing and encouraging crime to spread.
Cops are the ones who are arresting people for going maskless or gathering in too large a group for some petty dictator’s taste, they are the ones working with atf to take away your rights, the ones conducting no-knock raids and shooting you in the middle of the night while claiming you are a threat because you are White and happen to own a weapon.
The less of them around, the better.

The po-Lice are there to “Protect and Serve” their Paymasters, and the Criminals, from the Citizens. All of those Riots (oops, “mostly peaceful protests”) that (((grygori schwartz))) Funded and Organized were Allowed and Protected by the .gov and the po-Lice. Same thing with the Illegal Alien Invasion, the “Border Patrol” Organizes and Facilitates it, and Arrests anyone who even shows up to Protest.
IMO, the biggest Problem with “law enforcement” today is the overt Militarization of the thugpigs, on federal, state and local levels. NO ‘police department’ should be allowed to have Armored Vehicles and Automatic Weapons. Period. Change My Mind.

DM, I finally have to disagree with you. The courts decided many times years ago, the police have no legal responsibility to stop crime before they happen or to protect the citizens. They are to investigate crimes and maybe try to solve them. If they by some miracle stop one, then great. Their prime purpose now is to protect the govt officials no matter what the officials have done to the country or the citizens and then protect criminals so THEY get a fair trial while the rest of us, DIE!!! Their other primary job is to protect their pay and benefits first and foremost. As the ex marine on the subway in NYC has found out , if you step in to protect others citizens you will be punished. So I and a lot more will only protect MY tribe from now on , anyone I don t know is on their fucking own. The vast majority of the folks being attacked are part of the problem, they mostly voted in the woke commies so they will sow what they reaped from now on. As for back the Blue, I say Fuck the blue. They can do something to try and change my mind but they wont…..

The decision of a court doesn’t change their reason for existence. It isn’t that the police (and by extension, the criminal courts) don’t have the duty to protect society from criminals, it’s that they have abdicated that duty. That’s precisely why the people will eventually take matters into their own hands.

You are both right. However, explicit protection, whether abdicated or ruled out through legalities, is definitely non existent now. Whatever it was before, even if police took protection as a personal edict, there was a level of protection just through deterrence. Now we don’t have anything like that because of the anti police left and their mission of societal collapse.
The end result of course will be folks arming and protecting themselves. Easy conclusion
