From Wirecutter, a man has successfully registered a potato as a silencer. Remember when the ATF ruled that a shoestring is a machine gun?

Someone seriously needs to try and register one. Just sayin’

You could get a machine gun until 1986. Arbeit macht fweedom fwies.
Voat moar harder for this or that wing of the UNI vulture who works for foreigners and expects us all to love their paymasters.

You still CAN get a machine gun, if you have a spare 20 grand lying around.

Register a pop bottle stuck over a flash rider as a silencer. 32mm flash riders work great.
A couple more instances like this can build the basis for tossing the law.

Winner winner chicken dinner!
Mock them until they cry, then mock them for crying.

I do not recall that ruling. I wonder if the BATFE is concerned with my Molotov cocktail recipe?

I do. The letter and an actual picture of registered shoestring are online. IDK if a search engine could find them though.
Your ‘recipe’ is okay. However if f you want to make one according to law, the bureaucraps @ ATF want you to file a Form 1 and get it approved first.

Yep. That’s it. Pulling the ring pulls the trigger and keeping the ring pulled will pull the trigger each time the oprod goes fully forward and the bolt is closed. ATF decided that the ring becomes the trigger and the string as configured becomes a conversion device, thus by law a MG in and of itself.

The ATF prefers the law vague and arbitrary so they can charge anyone with anything. A related joke was the Bubba discussing protecting his pickup from a divorce settlement by making the cab a suppressor and registering it.
