A month and a half ago, I ordered a door from Lowes. The store subs out doors, and the door maker asked me by text what hand I wanted the door cut for. A couple of weeks later, the door arrived, and it was the wrong door. I took it back.
The door maker contacted me to ask why, and I told him I wanted a right hand door, but received a left handed one.
I had some things going on, including having to take a trip to Maine, so I waited a month to reorder the door. Again, the maker of the door contacted me. I told him that this time, I wanted to make sure we were on the same page. I sent him a picture of the fucking door I was replacing. I also said “I want the door that, when you are facing the door and it swings towards you, the hinges are on your left. I want a right handed door” Here was the picture of the door I sent them:
The door came today, and it is still the wrong cut. Here is the door I got:
I am now having to take a second trip to Lowes in order to return this door because those retards can’t cut a fucking door even when you send them a picture of the door.

I ordered a front door from Lowe’s. They sent their guy out and he took the measurements. When it came in, the door was 2 inches too short. They tried to convince me to just put an extra big sweep on it. Last time I used any of their services.

I’ve had the same problem, whether Home Depot or Lowes. Finally got fed up and ordered plain slab doors. Bought a hinge template (already had a router) and door knob template and routed and drilled everything myself. Bonus is I can choose length and style of hinges. Slabs are generally cheaper also. Porter Cable was the hinge template, relatively expensive but worth it.

Today amazon delivered the (10) swanson chicken broths and the box was floating on the front porch due to the 3 broken chicken broth boxes inside, and part of the order was not even there – so now I have to deal with that. I’m almost done with delivery stuff.

Had a similar situation with a casement window many years back. This was Home Depot, however. They made it the wrong way 3 times before I finally cancelled the order. The 2nd time I drew a picture on the order indicating, in excruciating detail what I wanted. The best part was I also ordered (and paid for) a double-hung window at the same time originally. I had installed that one (it’s hard to mess those up), but the three geniuses at the “pro” desk couldn’t figure out how to refund just the casement price plus tax. I had to do that math for them on the back of the invoice. Ended up talking to the manager who was completely nonplussed. Wrote a letter to corporate, got a call from a Sr. VP, received a $200 gift card (this was in the ’90s when you could buy stuff with $200…) and learned the manager was going to be replaced. It’s hard to find good help…

I’m with Jack. Buy the blank and do it yourself. It isn’t tough. But you’ll need tools.
That said, I’m struggling to see the problem with the door. If the louvres are pointing down, then the door knob hole is on the right, hinges on the left, just like the example door.
Did I miss something? Hinges cut for swing inward?
