Mamdani says that NYC is going to open a city owned grocery store in each borough and sell products 30% less than retail stores do. Here is my plan.
- Buy all of the stock that the NYC owned stores have at the steep discount they are offering.
- Mark it up to full retail
- Resell it.
That’s it. That’s my plan. My store’s name will be Nalyevo*
* In Russian and Polish, the use of the term nalyevo (na lewo in Polish) means ‘on the left’, but can also connote taking bribes or “sneaky” behavior.

Mamdani’s just taking an old Democrat-Leftist scam out of mothballs and freshening it up a bit for the 21st century.
In the heydays of the Daley political machine in Chicago, in Democrat-run wards, aldermen would go door-to-door handing out gifts, free food and other enticements – paid for out of the “war chest” of the party, of course – in return for votes. In those days, sometimes ballots were pre-filled with the Democrat candidate marked already!
The funds for these vote-buying schemes came from the taxpayers themselves, the marks who were gullible-enough not to see that they were being brided with their own money.
In short, this is a classic racketeering scheme, the buying/selling of influence, votes, etc. It is supposed to be a crime, but not when the Democrats do it, I guess. And now the Muslim communist Mamdani is pulling this old chestnut out of mothballs. Why? Probably because it stands a decent chance of working. Low IQ voters do have their uses, after all, it seems….
What was the old quote? Something about if Paul is being bribed with Peter’s money, you can always count on Paul’s support.

30% lower prices but nothing on the shelves because no supplier will sell to them at 30% off their prices. Meat will probably be all halal (when they have any at all) which will piss of any Sikhs and no kosher products of any kind, even pareve.
Now add in the costs of the City employees staffing the store and the cops moonlighting as security since you know stealing from THAT store won’t be tolerated.
They will be total money pits and graft conduits for the well connected just like every other Dem project.
