A housewife didn’t work for the 15 years she was married. Instead, she supported her husband in his career, following him across the country as his job took him from one city to another. He divorced her and was ordered to pay alimony. Five months later, she won the lottery. Now her husband thinks that he should no longer pay alimony. Men are calling her a deadbeat because she sponged off of him for nearly 20 years.
What would women say about that?
What if the genders were reversed? What if it was the man who was dumped and then won the lottery? Would women still defend the stay at home spouse, or would they call him a sponging free loader?
It turns out that those women are mercenary harpies, because that is exactly what has happened.

The purpose behind alimony was originally meant to keep the spouse at a level that she had become used to. Today, it seems more and more that judges are setting limits to allow the spouse to eventually care for themselves, depending on the age of the parties. It appears in this case, the ex-spouse can take care of himself now. The social construct upon which these laws were originally based has now become anachronistic, thanks to liberal-think.

Then why don’t the women who are saying he shouldn’t get any more alimony saying the same thing when the sexes are reversed?

Because they are obviously mercenary harpies.

Plenty of cases where the woman gets a very favorably alimony settlement, runs off with her new boyfriend, lives in his house, eats off his table, fully supported by his salary, but refuses to actually marry him because she still wants to collect alimony from her ex. Even without a lotto win, many men are stuck paying a large percentage of their salary to women who don’t need the money. So, goose, gander, etc.
That said, if I won the lottery I’d probably just tell her to fuck off and be glad she’s not trying to sue for a cut of the winnings.

She only pays him alimony for 5 years, WTH? 15 year marriage is past the usual dividing line for taking of income for spousal support especially of the guy is military. The women sure seem to get the money forever after that, so why not the guy?
Two separate issues here, one has nothing to do with the other. But to me once a issue is settled for a $ amount over a certain period that’s it! After the divorce is finalized, no changes allowed if the other person wins the lotto or a familiy member dies and leaves them money.
Funny, I bet that if you looked at this type case for both sides nationally, the women would get a cut of the lotto won after divorce but the guy wouldn’t.
Me, if i won the lotto after, every year she would get annual pics and video of me in vegas spending her spousal income on high dollar escorts and blow then if anything was left of me, opps i mean the money, that goes to gambling on lucky number 13, one time all in till next year.
As you can see there is a little bitterness here… All I would want really is fairness on both sides in the knife fighting game currently called divorces. And NO using kids or pets as weapons.

Women tend to see divorce, even when they initiate it due to “reasons” aside from him being a dead beat or actually abusive to be a way to retain money or make money. Same as much of child support and the custody of the kids. There’s a whole lot of I want the idea of the money he makes, but not the responsiblity of that commitment. To me no fault divorces need to have no alimony. And yes I’m also fully aware (And going though it) where the woman just has to hint or state there was some form of abuse involved and that all goes sideways. There are a lot of judges that go with the populace trial or their own preconceived perceptions instead of any evidence.
