Other than the trigger, hammer, disconnector, selector/safety, bolt carrier profile, auto sear (present on M16, absent on AR-15), and the lower receiver machining dimensions (internal shelf and the hole for the auto sear). You know, essentially the entire fire control group.

I’ve carried or owned both, and in a silly kind of way, I get his point.
An M16 can pretend to be an AR15 but an AR15 cannot pretend to be an M16.
But for the life of me I can’t see the usefulness of the comparison.
