For the second straight year, Biden won’t be attending the 9/11 memorial service in Manhattan. Keep electing the people who hate you, and they will keep right on hating you.

On this day 23 years ago, nearly 3,000 Americans died in the 9/11 attacks. In that number was 343 firefighters, many of whom gave their lives knowing that the buildings were coming down. I have friends who were present that morning at both the World Trade Center and at the Pentagon. I was on shift on Engine 12 that morning in Florida.

Let’s all take a moment to think about how many people who are alive today that have never lived in a world where there was a World Trade Center. How many people don’t know one of their parents because their parents died that day.

No comments will be approved for this post that claim the US blew up the buildings in controlled demolition. I know people who were there, and I trust them. Every one of them tells me that there was no controlled demolition of those buildings, so I don’t want to hear it.

SIL was there, downstairs getting coffee when the first one hit. Security kept repeating the mantra, All-is-well-go-back-to-your-offices. She and her coworker noped the hell out and got a cab. Plane 2 hit their offices. She still can’t talk about it.

    Excellent observation! Similar in Maui.

Read “The Survivors Club” – those who trusted their guts and fought the tide, lived…..

What’s the author? I see several books with that title.

I’m thinking that TPTB are worried that something might happen if Biden were to show up, ramble some crazy shit and walk off the stage ignoring the salutes of PD and FD employees.

…or be repeatedly observed checking his watch. I know that (most) people have the expectation that political big shots will show up and pay deference at an event memorializing a major tragedy. But personally, I’d not want him there. We all know pedo joey is a disingenuous wanker, his presence wouldn’t be sincere and would just be going through the motions out of expectation. Him being there, to my way of thinking, would be an insult and I’d tell him to piss off to his face, given an opportunity to do so.

Now, I realize my point of view doesn’t comport with that of most people, or with the tradition regarding the presence of a sitting president at such occasions being compulsory, but I really don’t think anything is lost by him not attending. Yes, it sends a message (that everyone should already understand): he doesn’t give a shit about you, or your problems. Really, he is more of a phony than even slick willy saying “I feel your pain”. His attendance would just be a distraction and slap in the face to anyone with a personal connection to the days historical events, as I see it.

I was doing a show at the Meadowlands across the river. We’d just gotten started. My crew and my attendees were all from NYC and surrounding areas. Surreal doesn’t even begin to describe the day.

No tv or radio stations on the air, then only PBS? out of an alternate location, and picked up by all the cable stations.

We sent everyone home, went back to our hotel, stopping for shelf stable food and to top off the rental car gas tank. We had no idea if this was just the start of something bigger, or the extent of the attacks locally.

My Skytel nationwide pager was the only communication medium that worked for us, and I had both a Sprint and ATT cellphone at the time.

ATMs were all down shortly after the second plane hit, and we were 2000 miles from home.

After a day or two, we were able to get a crew to meet us at the venue, and load up our show. We drove out in our rental cars. Hertz earned my loyalty forever when they told us to just call them and let them know where the car was when we were safe. National threatened to charge some of our guys with grand theft if they took their cars out of the area, so F them forever.

By the time we got to St Louis, some flights were back in the air, and I flew to Chicago to stay with family. I was one of only a couple people on my flight. Walking through O’hare Airport was unbelievably surreal. I was the ONLY person on the whole baggage claim floor.

I flew back to Cali later, and we went back out on the road (doing corporate training) flying all over the country for the next month. THAT was pretty strange too. You’d find pocket knives stuffed in every seat in the departure gate area, when people realized they were carrying them, and there was a pat down before entering the airplane. Eventually they started getting the searches and procedures standardized, and the whole stupid mess of TSA started getting up to speed.

It’s been 22 years, and I still can’t really talk about it without choking up. Even writing about it brings tears.

So yeah, anyone that thinks it was controlled demolition, or that “fire won’t melt steel” is too stupid to walk around without supervision, and can eat me.

added- for anyone who feels the need to marinade in it, reading through the pager traffic from the day on Wikileaks is like watching an explosion in super slow motion, zoomed in so you can see the individual atoms. Or like using tabasco as eyedrops. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to deny the humanity of it and hide behind conspiracy theories that deny the reality of people who knew they were doomed and the horror of the day.

Biden and Dr. Jill made it to Hawaii in 2021 for the 80th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor though. Of course that was two whole years ago when he was 30% more cognizant. The WH spox will blame in on the travel from the far east and of course Biden’s busy schedule. Besides, what would he say? I figure he would make up a fairy tale of how a two tall stacks of items toppled over in his garage 30 years ago. Not one stack or three stacks, it would specifically be two stacks.

What an embarrassment.

    Big Ruckus D · September 12, 2023 at 11:09 am

Yeah, those two tall stacks of items would’ve been boxes of classified documents he was illegally in possession of.

I walked through areas of the Pentagon that were hit by the third plane. The people in those offices had no warning and never knew what hit them. Perhaps they were the lucky ones.

The people who had to recover the bodies and clear up the area were not.

Biden has no place in a 9-11 memorial service. He is unworthy.

Actually, I think it’s not hatred of New York, it’s just not caring about New York.

Hear me out.

When was the last time that any Republican got serious votes and money from New York F’n City? I mean, it’s a place that, like Chicongo, votes and supplies money to and for the DNC no matter how foul and nasty the candidate is.

So why go? You don’t see the Animatron going to New Orleans, Atlanta, Detroit, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, Orlando, Austin or any other large DNC-controlled hellspot, do you? No. His body doesn’t have to show up there to get votes. He could literally be rotting apart and have an arm fall off on tv, hell, his head fall off, and those places will reliably furnish money and votes to his rotting corpse for all eternity. If there wasn’t an actual amendment stopping more than 2 terms, all the bullscat Clinton pulled, or Obama or if FDR hadn’t died, or Woodrow Wilson hadn’t stroked out, all of those would still be sitting here today on their throne of power.

Hate New York? No. Consider New York a safe bet no matter what his advisors believe? Yes.

Beans · September 11, 2023 at 6:56 pm

As to the Deniers, they literally deny the existence of the planes and the large fuel air explosions that ripped whole floors apart because planes can’t do that much damage.

Completely denying that Kamikazes, even without attached bombs, damaged and sunk huge ships just by hitting them at speed while loaded with aviation fuel.

Completely denying that the Towers were designed to stop a 707 at the end of it’s flight, but weren’t designed to stop something twice as big and fully fueled. Nope.

That heavy components like landing gears were found in, on and around the other buildings. (Though they do say the engines should have survived, you know, the engines that were going at full power and injested tons of steel, glass, people, paper, wood, sheetrock and explosively disassembled, as no jet engine ever build could eat all of that, hell, enough geese will stop one, and eating something like a luggage bin will blow turbine blades everywhere…)

Winston Churchill, during WW2 said “I will not say that the Greeks fight like heroes but that heroes fight like Greeks”.

After that day, I won’t say that the NT Firemen did their jobs like heroes but heroes behave like those men.

Gryphon · September 13, 2023 at 2:17 pm

Good on you for Rejecting the bullshit about ‘controlled demolition’ of those Buildings. None of the ‘tards making that claim can answer the Question of how does a Building that is Occupied 24/7/365 get Wired for Demo? Tons of Explosives and Miles of Wire brought in and Concealed, how?

My pet peeve is “Jet Fuel can’t Melt Steel”. I’ve been a Jet Mechanic since 1979. I can’t remember how many Jet Engines that I have Taken Apart and Put back Together. There is NOTHING in a Turbine Engine that is made of “Steel” in the ordinary sense. That’s because “Steel” loses all Mechanical Strength at less than a Quarter of the Temperature that Turbine Parts run at – under Loads that would Bend or Stretch “Steel” even when Cold.
