I guess charging him with gross negligence is asking too much. What do you think would’ve happened if that had been a nurse or someone in healthcare who left password available for patient records??

Fire him and revoke his credentials. Most civilians have more sense.

The weakest point of any computer system is the people who use it.

One of the many examples of why you want to resist the digital transition as much as possible. To a degree it is inevitable, depending on your convictions (frankly, they’re counting on that). Save this story, this link, this concept, in the back of your mind, the next time someone pushes flock camera’s on you. Or the coming digital ID. Or an app for your phone to read a menu. Or the parking-app you now need since we don’t have meters, or meter-maids, or cash… But it won’t EVER be used for nefarious purposes by your government, dear, benevolent government (it translates perfectly into north korean…)
Vote with your wallet folks, its the most potent weapon you have against this sort of thing.
