Looking at that video, it seems as though the cop who did that deserves criminal charges. It is inexcusable to use deadly force when it is not indicated. She is supposed to be a trained professional. If you or I were to do the same, we would be behind bars.

I can’t imagine the stress level of a cop making a stop that has gone wrong, so maybe Tasers should be bright yellow…?
Or at least not shaped like a pistol…?
SOMETHING to differentiate them from the duty firearm.

The ones I’ve seen carried in TX are yellow, clunky, and are carried on the opposite hip so a cross-draw is required.
It still comes down to training. How much training does one do to be able to determine what is being drawn for which situation?? An old adage says “amateurs practice til they get it right; professionals practice til they can’t get it wrong.”
