More on Affy

About the woman my wife and I used to teach with. Her masters is in a subject that is sought after by the Christians in Action. She just sent us a picture, taken at 6:30am this morning, east coast time. She and her coworkers are trying to burn all of the classified stuff that they can. She is still convinced that the government is going to get them out. After seeing the videos this morning, I can’t see that she is going to ever get out.

Satire

Good satire is difficult to tell apart from truth. The Babylon Bee nails it, again.

KABUL—Approximately twelve minutes after U.S. troops withdrew from Afghanistan, Taliban fighters have completely taken over the entire country.

“Woah, that’s a bummer,” said the Biden Administration’s foreign policy team. “We didn’t see that one coming.”

I don’t think she will make it

There is a teacher that my wife and I used to teach with. My wife still speaks with her by text from time to time. She left teaching and became a DOD contractor. She has been working in Kabul for the last several years.

My wife was talking to her by text this afternoon and the said “Things are getting interesting here, but I will be fine.”

I told my wife that she will likely not see her friend again. The Taliban are not very forgiving of Americans, of women, and especially not American women. That poor woman will likely not survive more than a couple of weeks.

My wife thinks that I am wrong. I don’t think she really understands how truly evil some people can be. I am actually thankful for that. There is enough cynicism and distrust coming from me, and I am glad that she is not as jaded, hasn’t seen the evil that I have seen. I hope to keep her from ever seeing the evil that lies in the hearts of some people.

I just hope that things never get that sporty here in the USA, but I fear that they might.

Enemy territory

Read this article and remember that this is not a third world country. This is in America.

“Where is your god now?” an Antifa member can be heard saying in the video.

As I have said on the “Danger Zones” list, the entire Interstate 5 corridor from the Canadian border south to Eugene, Oregon can best be described as an area of active, low intensity combat and Portland itself is behind enemy lines and is considered enemy territory.

The biggest reason that such things are happening there is that the police have chosen to side with the left wing insurgents. They simply stand there and watch as these sorts of events unfold. There is a lesson there for those of you who think that the police in your area will risk losing their pensions in order to take a stand.

SCOTUS

Joe Biden knows that the eviction moratorium is unconstitutional. He doesn’t care. In the words of the Washington Post: “Maybe it’s illegal, but it’s worth it”

Now this places the Supreme Court in a real bind. Since 1803, SCOTUS has held that any law that is in conflict with the Constitution is void. In practice, things are a bit different. This decision by the President creates a Constitutional crisis. What the President has done here is throw down the proverbial gauntlet. The court now must do one of two things: rule that the President’s actions are unconstitutional and attempt to enforce their decision, or they must ignore the moratorium and allow it to stand. In either case, the credibility of the court is now destroyed.

The Supreme Court is so worried that they will either be ignored, or that the Democrats will pack the court, that they are doing nothing that would upset the apple cart. The decisions on Obamacare, the election, and many other divisive issues are perfect examples. The court itself is no longer effective.

My prediction is that the court will find a way to dodge the question. They are deeply afraid of the answer to two key questions: What happens if the government ignores their decisions? Are they still relevant?

This has long term implications for the Second Amendment, and indeed for the very future of this nation. Things will begin falling apart more rapidly as the weeks go on.

Inflation and shortages

All sorts of excuses are being made, but inflation seems to be hovering around 20 percent. There seem to be all sorts of shortages.

When I was on my lobster trip to South Florida, we ate at Frigates in West Palm Beach. They were out of hogfish and lobster. Seafood restaurants all over the country are reporting shortages and higher prices.

My wife and I went to Longhorn steakhouse on Friday. They were out of strip steaks and lava cake.

Welcome to socialism.

End runs

Let’s say that the police want to search your home, but they don’t have the probable cause needed to get a warrant. So to solve this “problem” they come up with a plan. They have a criminal on speed dial who they recently caught committing a burglary do them a favor in exchange for the cops not arresting them. In this case, the burglar breaks into your house then anonymously calls the police to report seeing a dead body in the home. Or perhaps bomb making material. It doesn’t matter what he claims to have seen. This call falls under one of the exceptions that would allow the police to enter your home.

That’s a dick move, right? Would you consider that to be a violation of your Constitutional right against unreasonable search and seizure? In this case, the police didn’t have the legal ability to search your home, so they got another person to do it on their behalf.

Isn’t having a private business violate your First Amendment rights the same thing?

The “liberal” or “progressive” stance has always been that free speech is only about state suppression, not about private companies or individuals.

The argument has always been that Facebook/Twitter/Google etc. are private companies that have every right to decide what appears on their platforms. Of course, if the state is actively instructing the private companies on what to remove…that argument crumbles to dust.

Now do a little thinking and let me know what other Constitutional rights are being subverted because the government has enlisted others to do the violating.

Communism in disguise

I want you to look at this cartoon from a California school system.

One thing that is completely ignored by this cartoon is that the three people peering over the fence are watching the game without having paid for admission. In other words, the three in the picture are stealing the labor of the baseball players, in that they are receiving their labor without having paid for it.

Even ignoring that, this is a poor example. In economics, there are no boxes that people can stand on. The additional height that is provided by the box must come from somewhere. A more accurate creation of the differences would be to dig a hole under the tall person’s feet, and use the fill dirt to create a mound upon which the others would then stand.

With all of that, this ‘equity’ movement is being taught to our children. It is being forced upon us through corporate culture. Overly simplified, it ignores reality in favor of a pipe dream where everyone gets to watch free baseball. In other words, our schools are teaching communism. Sure, they will deny it, but that is the essence of communism.

They begin with a premise: that some group or another is the recipient of an unfair advantage. Let’s call that group the bourgeoisie. They have an unfair advantage in that they own the means of producing and creating wealth and are concerned with the value of their property and the preservation of capital to ensure the perpetuation of their economic supremacy. In other words, they have made it and are now using the laws of society to keep everyone else from making it. They have gotten rich and are staying rich by ensuring that poor people stay poor.

They do this through two means:

  • One group of the bourgeoisie steals wealth by forcing the workers to build things for low wages (employers).
  • The second group of the bourgeoisie steals wealth by charging the workers rent for either property (landlords) or money (bankers).

Let’s contrast them with the second group: Let’s call them the proletariats. The proletariat are forced to accept low wages in return for operating the means of production, which belong to business owners, the bourgeoisie. In this way, the bourgeoisie steal the property of the proletariat by forcing them to work for low wages, then taking those wages away by charging interest and rent for property that they own.

Now let’s mix in a racial component to make the picture complete. The white man is the source of all of the troubles of POC. You see, whites stole this land from the peace loving POC, then through the use of slavery, built the entire nation. Now that they are all bourgeoisie, the whites have set up this system to keep themselves rich, and the proletariat poor.

The only way to fix this, is to place whites at a disadvantage to the point where we all can watch the baseball game together. Does this sound familiar? It sounds remarkably like the speeches of Adolf Hitler, who blamed the Jews for all of the problems of the Aryan Nation.

I have seen this movie before. It always ends with box cars and systemic extermination of the bourgeoisie. Make no mistake, the war has begun. Whether you want it or not, it’s here.

As for me, I won’t be loaded into a box car, nor will my wife.

I leave you with the words of the rock band Rush:

The end was begun, it would hit everyone
When the chain reaction was done
The big shots try to hold it back
Fools try to wish it away
The hopeful depend on a world without end
Whatever the hopeless may say

Oathkeepers

The press calls them a militia group intent on overthrowing the government, claiming that they organized a coup on January 6. The ADL says that they are “a large but loosely organized collection of right-wing anti-government extremists who are part of the militia movement, which believes that the federal government has been coopted by a shadowy conspiracy that is trying to strip American citizens of their rights.” The Southern Poverty Law Center says that the Oathkeepers are “one of the largest radical antigovernment groups in the U.S. today.”

They are none of those things. I wrote about them in 2010, long before they were in the national spotlight. As a patriot and a first responder who has taken the oath multiple times, the basis for the Oathkeepers was one I could support:

  • We will NOT obey orders to disarm the American people.
  • We will NOT obey orders to conduct warrantless searches of the American people
  • We will NOT obey orders to detain American citizens as “unlawful enemy combatants” or to subject them to military tribunal.
  • We will NOT obey orders to impose martial law or a “state of emergency” on a state.
  • We will NOT obey orders to invade and subjugate any state that asserts its sovereignty.
  • We will NOT obey any order to blockade American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps.
  • We will NOT obey any order to force American citizens into any form of detention camps under any pretext.
  • We will NOT obey orders to assist or support the use of any foreign troops on U.S. soil against the American people to “keep the peace” or to “maintain control.”
  • We will NOT obey any orders to confiscate the property of the American people, including food and other essential supplies.
  • We will NOT obey any orders which infringe on the right of the people to free speech, to peaceably assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances.

So to those on the left: Which of the preceding points do you disagree? What makes those the goals of a right wing terrorist organization?
