According to my briefing at the hospital today, the newest variant of COVID has made an appearance in Florida: Lambda.
A large part of our admitted COVID patients are fully vaccinated: 29%. Whoever is saying that 95% of patients are unvaccinated is full of shit. They are lying to you. Fifty percent of the overall public in Florida is fully vaccinated.

The funny thing is that masks and vaccines don’t appear to be working, but that is not surprising. This pandemic is giving the government power that would have been unthinkable even 5 years ago. When has the government ever given up power, once taken?

Wasn’t there a report out of Massachusetts the other day saying that 75% of their cases were fully vaccinated?
I’m curious how it’s being determined which variant is causing the infections. I’ve read that it requires something like a gene sequencing of the virus and that can’t be done routinely and easily.

It’s the laziness of the language. No POC (point of care) test that I’m familiar with will give the variant – only yes detected or nope, not detected (for the disease itself).
To find out variants, the specimens have to be sent to special labs )usually health department, as they’re the ones interested in identifying). IF a variant is 85% in my area, then I can tell the patient “most likely” but never, “yes, you have delta”.

A: When they are made to by those who had their liberty stolen. The timing and means (hint: generally of the very unpleasant sort) by which that force is brought to bear is really the only matter yet to be resolved to the satisfaction of those who recognize the game that has been afoot.
Also: given the rate at which legitimacy of govt at all levels has been burned off lately revealing the obvious farce that lies beneath, do you still trust results from the state health lab to be accurate, or will they cook the books in support of “the narrative™”? At this point,we are fully into the soviet style proclamations:
“Wheat and tractor production up for five straight years, comrades! (But not a loaf of bread to be found at the market).”
I’d be weary of any claims by a govt agency now that a new scary variant is being identified by THE SCIENCE (those words reverberate for ~10 seconds) as predominant in a given AO. While it is likely to be true over time just because of the nature of viral mutation, they will find it far more important to make this claim prematurely and wildly overstated to further increase the fear factor in justifying the rollout of ever more restrictive bullshit.

i’ve been reading that for weeks…most of the sick are vaccinated…and if what some doctors say is true, more of those vaccinated will die or have other issues, especially as the new variants arrive (since chances are, the vaccinated are causing the new variants)…read yesterday that 62% of those vaccinated that developed health issues will have those issues until the day they die…this is one messed up vaccination they want us all to take…it’s hard to know what the truth is but it’s looking more and more like all the so called conspiracy nuts aren’t so nutty after all…you still won’t see it on the msm though…

As I have tried to explain – mostly without to success – to various family, friends and associates, the massive all hands on deck propoganda push coupled with the on-the-fly redefinition of long known terms (like vaccine) and moving of goal posts more times than can be counted now, along with the panicked blanket suppression of anything contrary is itself indicative of this not being “right”.
Even trying to be less “conspiratorial” (as they judge it) in tone and explain it as desperate people doing desperate things without proper planning and testing (and thereby screwing it up) doesn’t reach any center of logic in true believers. That is the part that enrages me; they will parrot what some “expert” (midget mengele, et al) has pronounced when said “expert” has been demonstrably wrong by simple observation multiple times, or simply state flat out lies and falsehoods as fact while mocking and insulting me for arguing the counterposition like smarmy little pricks. Many punchable faces around these days. Really makes me want to see them suffer horrid consequences, TBH.
The fake and gay data being churned out by the metric ton from all official quarters is too great for most people to overcome and start thinking for themselves. I’ve long had a generally low opinion of humanity, but the present episode has only reinforced my blinding hatred of normies. Not so much just for being normies, but for being such sanctimonious assholes when challenged.
Yes, some progress has been made even if only through the disilliusionment now taking root in many who are grudgingly admitting – if only to themselves – that getting their shitshots has not fixed anything (masking is back, cases are up, and all manner of new obnoxious fuckery is afoot). I think the sudden reimposition of masks and access restrictions on those who were good lil sheep and got their strokepoke like they were told only to have the cookie (normality) snatched away so quickly has done an enormous service for our effort. It isn’t enough but since all centers of power are clearly now intent on going full potato, the anger and distrust in the masses stands only to grow from here on out. Buckle up.

Last week at work there was a video/ remote presentation by a guy from the Public Health Service (federal agency). He outright lied several times, for example claiming that these vaccines are the safest vaccines approved today.
One thing he said was interesting – he referred to the PCR test as the gold standard for diagnosing COVID.
In January, on Inauguration Day, the CDC and WHO said a positive PCR test should no longer be definitive and additional testing is needed to confirm a diagnosis. Has this changed again? What tests is your hospital using?
