Jaremy Smith at 22 years old was convicted of armed robbery and hostage taking for which he received a twelve year sentence. On December 1, 2023, he was released after serving less than 10 years and placed on Supervised release.
Less than 4 months later, on March 15, he sat on the side of the road with a flat tire. When a New Mexico state trooper stopped to offer his assistance, Smith asked for a ride into town. When the trooper agreed, Smith shot him in the back of the head, ran around to the driver’s side, shot the trooper twice more, then dumped the officer’s body on the side of the road and drove off in the stolen patrol vehicle.
The broken down car that he had been driving? The stranded vehicle turned out to be owned by a South Carolina paramedic who was found shot to death in Dillon County, South Carolina, also on March 15. She had been reported missing several days earlier.
During his arrest, Smith was shot several times, and emergency surgery was performed. Since his discharge from the hospital, he has been held in jail awaiting trial. His attorney filed a motion asking for a continuance due to Smith being in a “tremendous amount of pain.” He has also complained that they aren’t giving him anything stronger than Tylenol to treat the pain.
You know what? I don’t give a shit. He is seen on video murdering the cop. The trial should last about 20 minutes longer than it takes to play the video, then they should toss a rope over the nearest tree limb and hang his ass, just like they used to do. I am usually opposed to the death penalty because I don’t trust prosecutors to present all of the evidence, even when they know that the accused is not guilty.
He killed two people and would have killed more, if the cops hadn’t caught up to him. Fuck this guy.
What really pisses me off about this is that he was released before the end of his sentence for “good behavior.” News reports show that in 2014, Smith, then 23, escaped from the Marion County, South Carolina, jail after he and another inmate overpowered two detention officers. The inmates handcuffed one guard and beat the other. The inmates then stacked up chairs in the recreation area and one lifted the other up and over the recreation yard wall. Officials say the jail staff then called for help and EMS to treat the injured officer, and when the gates were opened for deputies and EMS to come inside, Smith ran out of the gated area. Deputies tracked and captured him about two hours later. How in the world is that good behavior?

It was the damnedest thing your honor, he fell off the top bunk in his cell and broke every bone in his body when he hit the ground.

There’s a line in the classic film “Blazing Saddles” that comes to mind here. If you’re not sure which one it is, the movie is being re-released to theaters for it’s 50th anniversary. Perhaps a refresher course?
And yes, firmly in your camp. It would have been better at the time of “apprehension” that this had ended differently. He would not be in pain. Nor would a lot of us be … perturbed. Yeah, let’s say perturbed.
And do take good care next couple of days. Track has been shifted a little bit West as of the 0500HRS EDT update from NHC. Be safe. Be vigilant. I’ve known too many “Helenes”… and I think they’re even worse than Karens. 😉

“ Jeremy Smith at 22 years old was convicted of armed robbery and hostage”
For which he should have been put to death. There are two types of crime, that for which restitution can and should be made to the victim, not the State, and those for which it can’t and the response needs to be execution. You do raise a good point about dishonest and corrupt prosecutors, but I also think we need to go back to a system more like the founding when State prosecution wasn’t a thing. As far as getting it wrong, I’d rather be dead than in prison and so help me god, I would do everything I could to take “people” of the legal system straight to hell with me.

That we know of.

He killed two people – that we know of.
How many others did he kill, assault, etc in his travels from South Carolina to New Mexico?
And no, that certainly isn’t “good behavior” in my book, but unfortunately I suspect they only look back w couple years when considering “good behavior”.

I am for the death penalty in principle but not in practice … in must cases.
In this case, put the sob in front of a firing squad.

Rule #1: Avoid the groid.
Rule #2: If unable to #1, NEVER turn your back to the groid. NEVER! Because, you cannot defend against what you cannot see coming).
Rule #3 to ∞ : Avoid the groid.

Look at the smirk on that worthless ape’s face.
They are not like us and do not belong with us.

I’m scratching my head about why the medics were so eager to give this dude “emergency surgery.”
Couldn’t they have used the Princess Diana strategy where it took five hours after the accident, for medics to reach the hospital?

My thoughts on this have always been that it isn’t my place to decide guilt or innocence before handout out punishment. I do my best for everyone, regardless of my feelings on who they are or what they have done.

Many years ago in Germany there was a child rapist. He agreed to be castrated by surgery. He didnt wake up. The medical board investigated and found no fault with the doctors. Accidents happen, you know?

Quite honestly this is a huge reason why I’m adverse to stopping when I see someone with a supposedly disabled vehicle along the road. Especally since everyone has cell phones these days. Possibly out in the middle of no where I’d consider if they were not of military age in appearances. Male or Female.

Sad video. Complacency kills.
Did agencies stop drilling into officers’ heads that there is no such thing as a “routine traffic stop”…?
And maybe, someday, all police agencies will realize that continuing the practice of solo patrols after dark are effectively suicide missions.
And what happened to common sense, and running the plates immediately?
Officer Condition White should have been backing up at 30MPH the minute Hoodie Man exited his vehicle, hands in pockets, and this would have become a foot chase involving dogs and shotguns over the desert landscape, with Douchebag probably catching a sentence of buckshot execution a mile or two away, with any luck, ending his murder spree at one.
All that notwithstanding, as for this Exhibit A douche?
He should be dragged to death behind a moving car, over a gravel road, at about 20 MPH, to prolong the endeavor. Screaming the entire time. Perhaps a circular track, with bleachers installed for the victims’ families and co-workers.
Alternatively, what Gerard Butler did to a perp in Law Abiding Citizen would suffice.
