People who live in Maine are seeing one of their boxes of liberty being used as leverage to eliminate a second. The legislature in Maine, which is split 75 Democrat, 73 Republican, 3 other, voted last night to censure and remove the voting rights of a Republican legislator for daring to complain on social media about a male high school athlete who competed this year as a female, taking first place.
The Democrats said that they thought it was a violation of their ethical standards to publish a picture of a minor on social media. The vote was split along party lines. As a result, the people who are represented by Rep. Laurel Libby have had their electoral voices taken from them.
Now that people in Maine have seen the ballot box and the soap box taken from them, their only recourse is to resort to the other two boxes. Libby plans on filing a lawsuit to defend her rights. If the courts permit this to stand, there is only one box remaining.

“ethical standards” what a side splitter.

I live in northern Maine. The little tiny sliver of southern Maine is woke and left and densely populated. We need to be two states. If Laurel Libby runs for Governor, she would have our votes.

It is not as bad as all that. I live down here in Knox County. While it may be true that the bulk of the Communists in the State are here, they certainly do not dominate in the way you and others suggest. Many towns in this county, including my own went for Trump over Harris, which surprised even myself. The Commies didn’t like it and are in a state of shock around here that they might not be in the majority like they assumed. The politicians are wedded to the old Marxist paradigm that brought them to power and will be slow to realize they are making a mistake. People are done with the tranny nonsense, and Gov Mills will be the first to find that out.

“Ethical Standards” like “Protecting Democracy” to the commies is nothing but a alleged Moral shield to push for more control. Unfortunately they get away with it every time. There are no Republicans in Maine just like the whole northeast. What they call Repubs are basically Moderate Dems. No one will stand up for this.
If this rep is serious, then off to court it goes with NO settlement considered if the court by some miracle sides with her which wont happen in that state. But if it does somewhere within the system then Demand a billions dollars as punitive money. If you don’t make it hurt you are wasting everyone’s time…

… but the people of Maine won’t check that fourth box. As has been said, the past is a foreign country and the borders are closed. The Maine I moved to straight out of nursing school in the early ‘70’s to work ER is long gone, replaced by Somalis and liberals. Maine is Massachusetts North.
I left 15 years ago and moved west with no regrets.

Agree with SP RN. I have fond memories of time at Loring AFB and Caribou, ME. Even though I swear it was colder than Alaska! Went back a few years ago for memory lane and some great lobster. Really depressing the changes and the lobster wasn’t as good and was overpriced for what I got.
