I often say that I judge cops by their actions- cops are human, and they can be just as flawed, just as right, or just as wrong as anyone else. In the case below, they are 100% in the right. They tried to arrest him. He resisted. Then he produced a knife and stabbed one of them. Another cop tried a TASER, but it didn’t work.
So the cop who had been stabbed put three slugs into his noggin. I don’t see an issue with this shoot.
However, leftists in Madison, WI have formed the Corey Ruiz Autonomous Zone (CRAZ) at the location in Madison where the shooting occurred. Instead of shutting down the idiots that have taken over a two block area, the city of Madison is actively assisting the idiots.
The cops should go on strike.

Zone three cities are areas where violence has has taken place with little to no attempt at mitigating response from local authorities. Additionally, police and/or prosecutors are likely to bring the full weight of the law down upon those who attempt to defend themselves from these actors, or those who speak out against them.

Didn’t the Rodney King incident teach us to never trust videos that start halfway thru the altercation? I mean, they are already well into it before we see the first second of video. Who knows what happened before? Who knows how many times the cop warned him, or when he produced the knife? All we see is a brief few seconds of the struggle then pop-pop-pop.
In any event, I don’t trust cops, but they still have a job to do. Someone pulls a knife and stabs a cop, they should get perforated. That’s just common sense.

Around here (NW Indiana and SW Michigan) it matters not that the perp pulls a knife, machete or gun on people, when the police show up and fighting ensues, no matter if the perp is wounded or shot dead (note the news rarely cares much about the LEO’s being hurt or dead), the knee jerk reaction by the black/latino/bleeding heart community is to blame the police and protest (sometimes violently) against the cops. In some measure we get the riff-raff from Chicago passing through, but concentrations of such are now embedded in local, previously peaceful communities. Sad to see what has happened over the last 40 years and yes, there is a direct correlation in the D party liberals edging out previously conservative R farming born politicians.

Madison is certainly in the top 5 of most liberal enclaves. None of the aftermath surprises me at all. And It’s not about some thug getting domed. Could have been a police officer running over a squirrel, they will set up their zones as soon as they can.

Why didn’t they just send one jackboot to the scene who then immediately pulls his piece and shoots the perp?

So I’m guessing you haven’t tried? I have, and it’s not easy. In my case, we would use drugs, but that’s used on people who aren’t armed.

And using medications on someone who doesn’t want to be medicated is not always easy. 90 year old grandpas and grannies with full blown dementia are difficult to reason with.
