Austin Robertson (32) fought the officers then reached into his vehicle and pulled out an AR15 pistol (no brace of course…) and shot Deputy Alex… pic.twitter.com/MVMgj0z1Nq

Look, a good criminal.

I find this disturbing that two men couldn’t physically handle one man that was hell bent on killing them. Why did they give up the struggle and allow him enough time to enter the vehicle?
They should have knocked him out cold or both grab him and drag him away from that vehicle.
But at least they are safe and we no longer have to worry about this upstanding citizen.

It’s difficult to stop a full grown adult from escaping your grasp or to subdue them, especially if you are trying not to injure them.

Divemedic is right. Someone high on certain drugs, or as my grandma would say, demon possessed, can fight off many stronger men. The police did everything perfectly with great restraint, much to their credit. What a job that is!

Makes you long for the days of the old fashioned but effective wood shampoo.

Nah. One word. Slapjack. Instant lights out. Even on Meth zombies.

i’ve argued for years they teach dt in pairs and how 2 officers can work together to take someone down…instead you have 2 officers fighting over the same person, pushing/pulling different directions…and that’s how the bad guy usually gets away…
The Southern Nationalist · June 25, 2026 at 8:56 pm
That’s a good point but with two officers they should still have body slammed him to China while he was trying to get in that car. Their training alone should have told them he was up to no good with that effort he was making to get inside that vehicle.

“It’s difficult to stop a full grown adult from escaping your grasp or to subdue them, especially if you are trying not to injure them or get injured yourself.”
Fixed it for you. It’s even more difficult when your training minimized and watered down for the common denominator. Nevermind getting officers to maintain it. Especially this younger crop getting hired. Most of them believe they do whatever they want to people and all they need is on their gun belt.
If you want some practical physical conditioning to go with any wrestling, jujutsu, or judo you’ve done. Try wrangling livestock for a while. Even 80-150lb pigs are crazy strong. Cows are extremely difficult to keep still in a headgate when you’re trying to examine and medicate.

Most of their training is condensed into a laughable seminar. Nevermind they probably didn’t retain. Very few cops are going to spend time/money on jujitsu and judo lessons.

Yeah, the best criminals are dead criminals.
I see flashing lights on that ride, is it a cop car?
If so, when the perp opened the door they should have capped him on the spot.
Old Maine Farmer · June 25, 2026 at 8:42 am
What if he is getting out because his wife is in labor in the back seat and they cap him for getting out to check on her while he is stopped? This situation happened to someone I know, but they did not get capped thankfully. The way the police did things was perfect from my perspective.
ghostsniper · June 25, 2026 at 8:15 pm
Did you watch the vid? He was already out, struggled with both cops and got free, opened his car door, grabbed a gun, shot one of the cops, I think in the arm. When the perp put his hand on the car door they should have shot him.
Canuck · June 25, 2026 at 10:38 am
The flashing lights are from the cop vehicle in front of the perp’s car. Interesting it sounds like a K9 in the cop car with the dash car. If the cop had brought the dog out with him likely no shooting required. But tax dollars saved this way.

A common SC saying echoes in the distance
“He needed killin”
Grumpy51 · June 25, 2026 at 9:13 am
Interesting those who comment who show they’ve never been in similar situation. Reminds me of – “tell me you have NO clue what you’re talking about without saying I have NO clue what I’m talking about.”
TJ · June 25, 2026 at 9:21 am
If I counted right, that was two complete mag dumps into the perp. Well done, guys.
Diane · June 25, 2026 at 10:40 am
Sounds like there was a dog in the police car. Why did they try to subdue him? Unlock the door and let the dog(s) out (see what I did there?) These police dogs LIVE for just such an occasion…

We need many more of these “good shoots”. Love it!

It’s them again. It’s always them …
Treefarmer · June 25, 2026 at 6:02 pm
I keep hearing about how black people are afraid of the cops and that they need to have “the talk” with their children. It seems like all of the videos show black people giving the police all the trouble thay can handle. I never see any fear as blacks overpower the cops, destroy their vehicles, or shoot at them.
Tennessee Budd · June 26, 2026 at 7:55 pm
Poor whites have “the talk” as well, because we’re probably going to have some interactions with the police, often deserved. The difference is that we’re told to behave & stay alive.
