It probably isn’t constitutional and most likely won’t pass, but Republicans in the Florida Senate have proposed a bill that would outlaw any political party that actively had a platform supporting slavery. The only party in Florida that supported slavery is the Democrat party.

It’s obvious that this is nothing more than a ploy to make sure people know that the Democratic party is the party of slavery and the KKK. It’s also pretty damned funny.

This bill should move forward, have the whole legislature vote on it. When it is defeated it can be used to show why the payment of reparations – in any form – fails constitutional muster.

If the party today cannot be held liable or in association with the party of then, then how can it be that any people today be held liable or in association with people of yesteryear?

I say “let it pass”.
All rights derive from property.
If you own your own body, you are a free man.
If someone else owns and controls your own body, you are a slave.

We already know the Democrats love slaves.
But Republicans also love controlling your body:
* You can’t inject that into your body
* Force you to work because of property taxes. (I can cancel every bill in my name except taxes)
* “Back the blue”–even if you’re just moving your body at “5 over” the posted speed limit.

I would love to see a zero-party state.

Drugs, taxes, and speed limits are your problems with the Republicans?

It wasn’t an exhaustive list. 😉

But no. It’s not “drugs, taxes and speed limits”.
It’s that they think government has the right to screw with people over things like that in the first place.

Before you go thinking I’m a Democrat, I can say that Democrats easily beat the pants off Republicans in screwing with individual liberties.

They want your money, they want your land, and they want your soul. It’s not enough to say “I think the government should have no say when one dude decides to stick his penis where another dude evacuates his bowels”. They want to you *believe* in your heart of hearts that it’s holy, righteous, and good.

Screw both parties. One just happens to be a lot worse. We’d be better off if Republicans were in control of everything. I just don’t see it as the endgame. We can do better.

This reminds me of the effort to convict DJT of insurrection just so he cannot hold office again! I do not see how this bill could be construed as unconstitutional given the law passed to punish the confederates. I would just love to see the Dems try to argue that slavery wasn’t so bad that we should do away with the D party!
