It’s endemic. Consider how many senior NCOs and officers signed Spenser Rapone’s evaluations even before he got red-washed at West Point. Rapone didn’t just wake up as a Commie one morning. And West Point is now another university where, if I’m ever screening new employees again, his application will go in the trash. Diplomas are supposed to prove competence; in the case of too many schools, they mainly prove thorough Communist indoctrination. If they look like nice guys otherwise, I might suggest they sue their alma mater for policies that just cost them a job instead of getting one.

Theoretically they’re using satellite uplinks and encryption, and it’s pretty hard to hide something the size of a ship, much less an FOB. It’s not a big security problem.
It has been more than 20 years ago since an Israeli infantry team wound up famous after being heavily bombed or shelled no matter where they went or how they hid. I forget who they were fighting now, but the other side was watching their cellular transmissions, because most of the IDF were carrying personal cell phones which were broadcasting big “HERE I AM!” signals looking for nearby towers.
