For the past few days, the news in Memphis has been dominated by the reported abduction of a school teacher who was kidnapped while out for an early morning jog. Her abduction was caught on tape and the story was made even more compelling since she is the granddaughter of a philanthropist billionaire. Her body was positively identified this morning, found less than a mile from her accused abductor. The cause of death hasn’t been released, but we can all assume that it wasn’t due to COVID. I’m also guessing that there will be evidence of sexual abuse.

The man accused from abducting her is Cleotha Abston.

Abston has quite the lengthy criminal history, dating back to when he was just 12 with charges including aggravated assault with a weapon and rape, all before the age of 16. Then, just after his 16th birthday, he graduated to the big leagues when he kidnapped a prosecuting attorney Kemper Durand at gunpoint in 2001, before forcing the man into the trunk of his car. Abston drove Durand around in the trunk of the stolen car for hours before taking him to a gas station ATM in order to force Durand to withdraw money.

Durand would later testify in court that he believed he would be murdered after the withdrawal. As luck would have it, an armed guard happened to enter the gas station during the robbery, and Durand would plea for help. Abston was convicted of the kidnapping and sentenced to 24 years in prison after being tried as an adult. He was released less than two years ago. In the two years since being released, neighbors have referred to him as the “creepy pervert” living down the street. He stayed with his brother, who is also a convicted felon (armed robbery). I mention the brother because he was also arrested last week for possession of drugs with intent (fentanyl and heroin) and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. (I wonder why they didn’t add possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, which would add a 5 year minimum under Federal law. We don’t need more gun laws, we need to enforce the ones we have.)

On Monday, Abston was arrested on charges of identity theft, theft of property under $1,000 and fraudulent use of a credit card, all unrelated to Ms Fletcher’s violent abduction. I’m sure they are about to add first degree murder to that list of charges.

Isn’t it time that we admit that blacks are largely a race of criminals who have a pathological inability to live in civilized society? It’s well documented that more than half of all homicides and nearly half of all violent crimes, are committed by blacks. In Memphis, the chances of becoming a victim of violent crime are 1 in 119, compared to 1 across 341 in Tennessee.

If the young teacher in this case had been willing to admit this fact, she would not have been out jogging in the early hours of the morning. I’m sure that she felt safe, but safety is an illusion. I’ve said this before: Stay away from areas where blacks congregate. Stay out of the cities, and be armed at all times.

As for Mr Abston, I wonder how attached his victim’s grandfather was to her. If I were a billionaire philanthropist and someone murdered my granddaughter, I would find a way to let someone in the jail know that, should her killer meet a particularly painful death in the prison, there would be some kind of reward coming. I might even see if I could arrange for the prison guards to assist in the effort. Justice would be done, and vengeance would be mine.

Isn’t it time that we had enough of this bleeding heart shit?

He picked the Wrong Target. Had she been some nobody instead of an heiress, he may have gotten away with it. It wouldn’t be national news. He’ll get the book thrown at him now. If he’d abducted a nobody, he’d be facing a few months in the Glamour Slammer at 201 Poplar then ten years at the Penal Farm lifting weights and making appeals.

The area around Memphis State was bad when I lived there in the Eighties. I can only imagine it today.

Memphis has been a cultural and demograpic shithole for a long time now, and getting worse, for all the (maybe not so) commonly understood reasons. Same old story with essentially every semi-large to major American city, including my own. Some are just further along the trajectory of ruination than others.

Anyway, the victim here was notable only for her familial connection, and that is why the system has sat up and taken notice, and will probably effect some actual attempt at “justice” depite all current efforts to destroy the very concept. Or maybe they’ll lower the bar again, just to relish in the public furor doing so will evoke.

One does ponder whether she ever did an honest threat assessment of her environment, and simply chose to inaccurately gauge the level of threat present, or if she was a member of the cult of divershitty is our strength™️ in good standing. Something in my gut says the latter was likely the case. And if so, her misreading of reality was her downfall.

This is called learning the hard way. We will see many more such lessons administered as civilized society flies apart from all the cumulative damage inflicted, aided by useful idiots who will still forcefully reiterate their undying belief in diversity, inclusion and equality with all the religious ferver it has come to be characterized by.

I do not believe the needed lessons can be learned by people of that mindset without a shocking amount of collateral damage, and perhaps not even then. The denial and rationalization that is employed to justify these self evidently ruinous beliefs is unfathombly strong, such that it appears many would rather die than ever dare to renounce their sanctimonius and effete feel good idiocy. If that’s how it is, then let them die. I cannot advocate for saving those who continue to wilfully undermine the ability to maintain a society that is worth livng in. In summary, they are standing in the way of solving the problem, so fuck ’em.

She was raised, like many people born after 1960 or so, to believe that blacks were not really criminals. We were taught that because our parents felt guilty about segregation.
Nope, black folks are merely victims of racism and bias, and if you have any ill feelings about them, it’s not because you have learned through experience and observation that they are bad people, it’s because you are a racist.
    It cost her her life.

Oh, I know. But what I’d really like to know is when the oh-so-smug whites who think themselves so virtuous for holding that now completely busted belief system that was indoctrinated into them will start to feel guilty about the damage done and lives lost by the forcing of desegregation and unlimited importation of invading third world garbage.

Hell, even the holo¢au$t guilt trip is starting to lose it’s omnipotence in manipulating hearts and minds. That is meme worthy with such irreverence by gen Z is telling. And that may have been the most successful psyop’d collective guilt complex of all time.

After all, if such generational guilt trips can be induced for one set of bad feels, it should be entirely possible to swing that process the other way. But these dumbfucks keep on resisting the obvious breakdown of what they stupidly thought was doing the right thing. And it has long since begun to cost them personally, but the unwillingness to acknowledge the consequences remains firmly in place. I truly marvel at the amount of denial that can be mustered.

      THIS^^^^^

I was raised in an all-white small town and never considered myself racist. 40+ years in emergency services has removed all doubt of the “diversity-scam”.

My extended family expresses dismay at my overt racism. I’ve invited them multiple times to come shadow just 1 shift…… none have ever taken advantage of it. Now, I just tell them to fook off.

When people tell me all of that shit about how homeless people are just regular folks down on their luck, and we are all 1-2 paychecks away from joining them, or how blacks are just people suffering from racism, I ask them how many homeless people, or how many inner city blacks they know on a personal level.
As a street medic, I know many of them. I know them better than some angst filled BMW driving liberal soccermom. Your opinion means exactly shit until you see things for how they really are.

I grew up in northern Canada, the number of blacks in our area was 4. A local doctor and his family, most people thought they were nice but in the 80’s he through incompetence killed a patient and one of his kids was charged with rape. But i didnt think too hard about race back then.

When i left for college I had a very niave world view but got excepted in a large US unniversity and found a place to rent about an hour by bus from campus. The 1st day I got on the bus and ended up on the west bound not eastbound bus. The driver was black and i was the only passenger. I just took a seat partway back. About 15minutes later the driver stopped and stood up to talk to me. Asked me where i was going and where i was from, i told him and he said i had to sit right behind him if i wanted to live. Told me dont make eye contact with any passengers and dont talk to anyone as the area we were about to go through was not safe for whites.

We eventually made it back to where i got on and i found the correct bus but i was threatened with murder twice and rape once during that 20 minute ride. The driver just kept telling the black guys who got on “He’s Canadian and lost”.

That made me a lot more aware about safety and race.

All too often society falls prey to the idea that exceptions they’re aware of become the rule or simply put, normalcy bias. It ties in neatly with leftist emotionality and virtue signaling, along with never venturing out of your safe space to see the real world.

Anytime I’m not in my home AO, I’m applying heuristics, based on my experience, around me. Took a lot of explaining what I was seeing and a couple of situations where I thought I would need to break leather for wifey to get it. She’s now on a swivel but gets a lot of false positives still.

We just discussed this situation and I brought up Dive’s article. A considerable amount of discussion went into the victim’s contribution to the situation via poor or non-existent decision making skills and a decided lack of situational awareness.

Conversation changed to some folks that use the phrase “never again” but don’t have the stones (or tools) to back up those words. Goes back to the normalcy bias I’d mentioned. Ultimately, leftists are all that way; bluster and Machiavellian machinations as a survival strategy. Only exception I’m aware of are the pantifa tards and their ilk that have gotten past their squeamishness, are receiving real-world experience and are ready and waiting to be let loose with no consequence.

Ultimately, people refuse to notice what’s going on around them and are no better than an ostrich with their head in the sand.

Isn’t it time that we had enough of this bleeding heart shit?

The portion of “we” that are liberals tell the government employees they hire to reward bad behavior and punish good behavior. Isn’t it time that we admit that LIBERALS are largely a race of criminals who have a pathological inability to live in civilized society?

“Isn’t it time that we admit that blacks are largely a race of criminals who have a pathological inability to live in civilized society?”

No, it’s not, because your statement is false.

    Divemedic · September 8, 2022 at 10:57 am

While there are outliers, on average it is true. Please illustrate for the class one black run nation, city, or state that is successful.

      21stCenturyCassandra · September 9, 2022 at 1:12 pm

Not what I said. You essentially claimed that all blacks are felonious homicidal maniacs. It’s a small minority of them. Those who are dangerous are very dangerous, but they are a small minority.

David · September 10, 2022 at 11:05 am

Sad, isn’t it, that an intellectual jewel like Thomas Sowell has to share the demographic stage with feral predators.
Cassandra, can you not observe the current state of Haiti and conclude that is something deeply disfunctional in black culture? Beautiful tropical island. Should be a wealthy paradise like Grand Cayman. Why isn’t it?

Aesop · September 12, 2022 at 3:07 am

I wonder that being known as the neighborhood “creepy pervert”, he didn’t turn up dead one day, with no witnesses, and no leads.
Bonus points would accrue if he was simply never found, and feral hogs and wildlife took care of any evidence.

The lesson of Wu’s pigs in Deadwood should be recounted as often as possible.
