Shannon Lee, the daughter of Bruce Lee, says that she is tired of white men telling her father’s story. Why does she think that they are incapable of telling it?
“I’m tired of hearing from white men in Hollywood that he was arrogant and an asshole when they have no idea and cannot fathom what it might have taken to get work in 1960s and ’70s Hollywood as a Chinese man with (God forbid) an accent, or to try to express an opinion on a set as a perceived foreigner and person of color.”
Note that she doesn’t deny that he was an arrogant asshole, but instead excuses it because racism, or something. I would point out that Ms. Lee, who was born in 1969, wouldn’t have any idea about what it was like to get work in 1960s and ’70s Hollywood, either. So maybe she should shut the fuck up. But that isn’t what she is saying. What she is saying is that Whites need not have an opinion about anything because we can’t know what its like to ever be discriminated against because of the color of our skin. The irony completely escapes her.

If I remember correctly he was famous for injuring stuntment and extras as something of an ego boost, threatened to kill Robin from the old Batman and Robin TV show because the script called for Robin to win in a fight, and more or less flounced around as a prima donna but then guess we’re not allowed to tell those stories anymore.

So the millions of white fan-boys who never shut up about how awesome Bruce Lee was, or how he could one-punch kill you, or rip your still beating heart out of your chest, cause Karate or something, can all just shut up now? The kids from the 60’s and 70’s who grew up on poorly dubbed kung-fu movies and acted out scenes in their back yard were somehow racist at the same time and should just what? Be quiet? The literal fascination with all things oriental from that time period was wrong? No one at that time wanted to be a muskateer. They all wanted to be a samuri or kung-fu master. But racism. Or something.

Heh. And who’s fault was it that it was tough for him to get work in Hollywood? We all know who runs the place, then and now. “These are not the whites you are looking for…” Bruce’s bitchy daughter needs to go back to school. May I suggest her enrolling at and getting a degree from STFU.
And for all the white people who worshipped Bruce Lee: get yourself a better idol. Most importantly, one who looks, talks and thinks like you do, outsiders need not apply. Get tribal or get dead, those are your only options for the future.
