Although we have already had our first cool front to bring Autumn into Florida, summer isn’t ready to give up just yet. The humidity today is brutal. When you go outside and take a breath, the air seems to have a thick consistency:

Look at that dew point! Of course it’s cloudy, and the sweat runs off you with nowhere to go. Cooler weather is supposed to arrive this week, and I for one will be happy to see it return.

Agree with that. Of course, the “first time in 112 years no hurricanes in September” sort of balances the humidity for me. I went out on the bicycle for 10 miles today — plenty of sweat but not quite as bad as August.

“Feels like 103°”
Could be – doubtful though. I’ll take 110° with 15% humidity (dew point about 25°) over 88° with 80% humidity. Dew point is the indicator. Death Valley in August isn’t as uncomfortable as Florida in August (or October). Been both places. 🙂

Indeed. Same stuff here in Ft. Myers. I’m not sure… am I supposed to breathe this stuff… or DRINK it???

Things generally change around 16 October. Thing is… currently here, we’re “abnormally dry” according to the drought indices…. Sarasota… Bradenton and surrounding areas are still in “Extreme Drought” conditions.

Not good since “Rainy Season” is about to end.
