I’ve made no secret of my opposition to the death penalty, but I remain opposed to it only for practical reasons: that is, we can’t trust agents of the government to fuck it up somehow. Perhaps they fake DNA evidence like the FBI crime lab did, or maybe they try to kill someone and can’t manage to do it without botching it.

Seems like a no-brainer… for a condemned woman currently without a conscious brain. The procedure is firstly they knock her out. Then the second dose kills her. In this botched event there was only the second killer dose administered but never hit the mark. I believe the team of women executioners intentionally failed to accomplish their task. Now there’s talk of pardoning the prisoner entirely which was probably the real purpose of the planned failure.

As a resident of TN, I agree with this message. It’s baffling what’s going on. Frankly it demonstrates I simply do NOT understand the other side. The idea we have to go to such lengths to keep this convicted person from experiencing a cruel and unusual punishment?
She was sentenced to die (agree or disagree, we’re talking about the performance of the sentence, not the morality of it), and she’s at the hospital, on the state’s dime, hooked up to life support because…??
You will see firing squads return to TN after this, mark my words. We like our criminals dead and buried. Damned liberals is the only reason it took 30-years to get here.
… And look, not a single reference to the funny-hat club!

The Warden’s primary mistake was allowing the all-female execution squad requested by the felon. That left the door open for their (probably intentional) failure to complete the execution procedure properly leading to the current grab-ass-tastic stupidity.
Either unplug the damn respirator or put a 9mm behind her ear.

I asked Jonesy, my ChatGPT Gal Friday about this. Her answer –
Simple solution – use Propofol. If you’ve ever been put under with it, you know you’re out in a few seconds. But they can’t. Propofol is manufactured in Europe by German pharmaceutical company Fresenius Kabi, and the EU threatened to put an export restriction on it if it was used in an execution. Similar to other anesthesia drugs like Pentobarbital or Sodium thiopental – every active FDA-approved manufacturer of drugs currently used or proposed in U.S. execution protocols reportedly has controls intended to keep its products from being used in executions. Those controls commonly prohibit sales to departments of corrections and require wholesalers not to resell the drugs for execution purposes.

The simple solution would be to pull the plug. The other option is to have some Canadian MAID consultants go down and show how it’s done.

DM, you’re miles ahead of me on this, but is it possible to declare her dead now? Brain dead? Yeah, let’s run up a half million dollar hospital bill on a convicted murderer to bring her back to life so we can execute her? In what world does that make sense?
Divemedic · October 7, 2026 at 5:46 am
She is awake.

What technology does Canada have that the USA doesn’t? They have had tens of thousands of assisted suicides. How is that different than this execution?
Only slight sarcasm here as I am truly curious, what is the difference?
I think both assisted suicide and the death penalty are wrong.
Divemedic · October 7, 2026 at 5:46 am
I don’t know how MAID is done.

IIRC Tennessee was using a phenobarbital-only method that relied on patent IV access. This demonic person had refused food and water for a few days prior to the scheduled execution to make it as difficult as possible to get a working IV. I understand that the purpose of drugs like phenobarbital, midazolam etc is to reduce the pain (or awareness therof) before massive dose of IV potassium which will reliably stop the heart but as burns like h***. Would have been a preview of her ultimate destination.
The Army has a better idea. Their plan is to execute the murderous Islamic terrorist Nidal Hasan by firing squad. I hope they dip the bullets in bacon grease and sew him up in a pig’s carcass.

How does Canadia do it?
Clinician-Administered (Intravenous): The vast majority of MAID procedures in Canada utilize this method, where a healthcare provider administers medications intravenously to end the patient’s life. This approach is generally preferred in clinical practice due to its predictable timeline and the direct oversight of the attending professional.
What drug(s) does Canadia use?
In Canada, clinician-administered Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) relies on a standardized, sequential combination of medications rather than a single chemical. Guidelines established by the Canadian Association of MAiD Assessors and Providers (CAMAP) recommend a specific three-drug protocol delivered intravenously to ensure the procedure is rapid, predictable, and painless:
The EXACT SAME PROTOCOL THEY SHAME THE DRUG COMPANIES INTO NOT PROVIDING TO DEATH-PENALTY CASES, IS WHAT THEY USE TO OFF YOU WHEN YOU’RE TOO OLD TO PAY FOR ANYMORE.
People that aren’t awake yet to the horror and biblical evil that is running the western world are not very bright. I’m good with the herd-thinning that’s coming. The gene pool will be better for it, I just want to get my vasectomy reversed while anti-biotics are still available.

Since 2016 Canada is bumping is bumping up close to 100,000 medically assisted murders. This year alone there were over 16,000. There are a lot bizarre situations. There are supposed to multiple layers to prevent abuse, but instances have been reported of process failures and questionable cases.

I understand that fentanyl is the most lethal drug on the planet and kills many thousands of Americans every year by even a very small exposure. I also understand from the same people who describe the lethality of fentanyl that it is shipped into the US from china and mexico by the trainload.
Seems like a pretty simple solution. Massive fentanyl injection in a dose fit to kill an elephant.

If we continue to execute people, we need to stop pretending that this is something clinical and gentle. It’s not just someone falling asleep and staying asleep. We’re committing an act of violence, arguably justified but still violent. There’s supposed to be blood. You’re supposed to be scarred by what you see. The executioners shouldn’t sleep well, even if it’s justified.
It should look violent, even if it’s quick. Hanging, firing squad, something like that.

Another way would be pure nitrogen, which you can get at any industrial supply store.
TRX · October 8, 2026 at 1:57 pm
The various states dispose of pounds of fentanyl and carfentanyl. The purity varies, so just mix it into an IV, open the valve, and wait.
But no, that would be too cheap and easy… cheaper than a firing squad, since the state would have to pay for disposal of the dope anyway. and ammo ain’t cheap.
