The US has sent about $49 billion in aid to the Ukraine so far in 2022. That is about $1.75 billion per week, or $1,100 for every man, woman, and child in Ukraine. Meanwhile, the US Air Force has announced pay cuts to some airmen, citing lack of funds as the reason.

Not only that, but it turns out that the US military doesn’t have enough artillery shells, rockets, and missiles. It turns out that we have given the Ukraine 800,000 shells for 155mm artillery pieces and another 108,000 shells for 105mm cannons. Nearly a million shells given away, and we don’t have enough as it is.

That isn’t smart.

Not just the USA, most of the EU has emptied their armory. Not likely to be able to rebuild any of it either, at least the US still has manufacturing to do that, and energy to run it.

I do believe Russia must be stopped and thrown out of Ukraine. If they are allowed to continue, which country will be next? Perhaps a NATO country? Then we will be committed to put boots on the ground. That would be even more expensive, in money and blood.

We aint the good guys…… we’ve (US) provoked the Bear since at least the late 2000’s…..

The US has used been living off the “iron mountain” of supplies built up for the Cold War for 30 years now. I’m sure that over the next year more items will turn up like the Stinger that we have to redesign since parts are no longer available…

Yes, but.

We’ve never had “enough” shells (bullets, missiles, bombs, rockets, etc.), on any day since January 1st of 1946.

And if we’re going to give them away, sending them to be delivered to Vad’s militarily adventurous minions at speed is probably the best use of them, if we’re not going to carpet bomb Iran and the Norks.

So this is largely a false dilemma.

What it underlines more than anything is that we need to get cracking on rebuilding the infrastructure so that we can crank up war materiel production in days rather than months, when the situation demands it.

Sunday news noted that Lockheed meeting current HIMARS demand (launch vehicles and the rockets themselves) is going to take them 24 months. That should be 90 days, not 90 weeks.

But given the way every U.S. admin since Fat Bill has butt-f**ked the military – both figuratively and now literally – at every opportunity, this is hardly even news.

The printing presses still work and the replacements could be used as cannon fodder after the escalation into WWIII but will the crusade to crush Russia happen before the economic wipeout?

This is more proof Biden is in the pocket of President Xi of the PRC. What better way to make sure that the U.S. can’t defend Taiwan – or some other piece of ground wanted by the Chi-Coms – than to make sure the armories and arms warehouses are empty or nearly so.

This isn’t incompetency; it isn’t a “policy difference” … it is straight-up treason. Biden is placing the country at grave risk, intentionally, and if that is not treasonous behavior, what pray tell is?

So was gifting billions of dollars of U.S. technology and weaponry to the enemy when he abandoned Afghanistan…. that’s treason also, but once you do it once, the rest of the violations are “free” or so the saying goes.

Biden is fortunate that we no longer live in a nation of people serious-enough to even know what is treason or what sort of behavior constitutes it.

Biden says that the American people would need an F-15 to fight the military, but with how much we’ve sent Ukraine the military probably hasn’t got the supplies to last longer than 5 minutes in a firefight.

The people could probably overthrow the government with torches and pitchforks.

We lack political leaders with the will to actually have a serious – fight to the finish – unconditional surrender – type war anymore. So who fucking cares what weapons are in inventory anymore? Unless you have stock in a company producing materials for the army. In almost any scenario, I’d want to see the US armed forces hurting for ammo since they will most likely be using against us deplorable MAGA types.

OneGuy · September 10, 2022 at 10:10 pm

This is intentional. So what is next? A foreign war or an attack on us. I could be wrong, time will tell.
