Disgusting, raiding his mother’s home to arrest him because some cops’ feelings were hurt. This is just as bad as some hoodrat shooting someone because he was “disrespected”. The judge who signed the warrant should also be removed from the bench as I believe he is aiding and abetting this department misusing its’ power.

Agreed, the judge in this is just as bad as the police department. But this goes along with police forces not having clearly marked vehicles, if they are there to actually help why hide?

Gibbons had repeatedly video recorded police speeding. Gibbons insulted the PD on his YT channel.
The police do not police their own. There have been multiple instances across the country of PD strongly resistent to seating a civil oversight board.
Legal action then becomes the only lawful recourse.
While rooting for the plaintiff here, the sorry result will likely be the city insurance will cover all costs. That is, borne by the taxpayer.
And the PD is not likely to effect a long term change of policy, nor act to reprimand individual officers.
Fines, fees, settlements resultant from legal action should come from the individual officers when found guilty.
It should be made mandatory of individuals in law enforcement to provide a surety bond of no less than Two Million Dollars.
That dollar amount is not excessive. Consider that munincipalities require a bond of that amount for a contractor to work within that muni.
Or, a marina require that amount for a private vessel to acquire a berth or mooring.

THe problem is that none of the officers involved (Nor the judge) will be held personally responsible. They will personally suffer no consequences from their action, and the taxpayers (Or the city insurance) are out whatever the settlement is.
Unless, and until, the OFFICERS are forced to pay, or suffer consequences, this won’t stop.
“Qualified Immunity” be damned.
