I’m sure most of you have heard about the contaminated vegetables. The culprit is likely lettuce from Taylor farms thats contaminated with a parasite. The parasite is present in feces and spreads via the fecal-oral route.
in other words, some lettuce picker who had ot took a shit in the field, and now 10,000 people share in their misery.

I read the contaminated lettuce was found in Taco Bell offerings. Taco Bell is the same company that was, or maybe still is, stretching their hamburger meat with the pink slime. That stuff, no verified ingredient list, is comprised of eyelids, assholes and hair they scrape off the floor. Then they add a lovely pink coloring and gelatin to glue it all together. Just like momma used to make.

I quit Taco Hell years ago, because it just tasted like chemicals; my fault for being the son of a Texan, and living there off & on as a boy, so I knew early on how things are supposed to taste.

Anyway, I read yesterday that the whole thing is a farce and was caused by a problem with the FDA that sounded similar to the covid “gain of function” thing, or how they did the nasal tests, I’m not clear on the details of such things.

Then who forced Taylor Farms to recall all of thir iceburg lettuce in 25 states? Lettuce in those 25 states was sourced by Taylor Farms from central Mexico. At least during the winter months almost all of our lettuce comes from Yuma. https://www.taylorfarms.com/recall/

The field you will work is one mile by one-half mile. You are paid by the piece.
The law says there must be x amount of portapotties per y employees. The portapotties are mounted on trailers. Those trailers are parked on the road along one side of the field.
It is a low probability that an employee will stop work walk across the field, do his business, walk back across the field to resume work paid by the piece.
It has been that way for decades. Meaning it is normal for employees to pee or shit or vomit in a field.
Many of those employees carry infectious diseases.
Go talk to ER staff in a community with lots of agricultural fields which are harvested by hand. Find out what they are treated for and the incidence of frequent flyers at the ER
Those employees live communally with their own kind. Ten or more people living in a two or three bed house is typical. Company provided housing where it exists is worse. At least the company will enforce some semblence of cleanliness outside the building.
For decades I have not bought commercially grown vegetables. I buy only locally grown from family owned small farms, or not at all.
