I have to say that I agree with what I recently heard a politician say. I wish I could remember who said it or find the video. What he said was essentially “the Republicans need to stop worrying about election fraud. No matter the fraud or absence of fraud, the Republicans won the last election. They now run the House, the Senate, the Presidency, AND the Supreme Court. What have they done with all of that power? Not much. Not nearly enough.”
To an extent, he is correct. I mean, Trump started a war in Iran with no clear objective and no end in sight. The Iranians are looking to keep the war going until at least November, so they can be the spoiler in that election. The Republicans managed to get rid of Roe, and are making serious inroads into getting rid of many gun control laws, but that is a function of SCOTUS and is fallout from the 2016 election. The result of the most recent 2024 election is somewhere between Jack and Shit, which is what the Republicans have managed to do so far.
If there aren’t some serious changes in the next couple of years, I think I am going to sit out most of the next election. I will vote in local and some state races, but I don’t think I can hold my nose and vote for the stupid do-nothing party. I can’t vote for a communist, Democrat, but that doesn’t mean I have to vote for a Republican who isn’t going to do anything but line his own pockets, either.
Why is it that the left can make so much progress on their agenda when they are in power, but the Republicans can’t seem to do anything? It’s almost like their stated agenda is just something they say so they can gain power, but we all know that would never be true. /sarc

A shitty bird with two wings. Voating is like choosing which flavor of shit to eat, rather than refusing to choose off that menu at all. The ballot box is trumped by the midnight ballot suitcase or data switch, and the monkey you choose is already owned, or in rare cases will be shot and replaced if he does not grind the tune he is ordered to. The cartridge box will be matched against another cartridge box, of which both owners lose. There are no non-stinky bloodless heartbreak choices left. Time is running out for any choice at all. In the meantime…..Sportzballz!

While I agree with your assessment that the Republicans suck, I still plan to vote and urge you to do the same. Once the Democrats/Commies get it, it’s pretty much game over. While I expect that their takeover is inevitable, voting Republican buys us some time and gives us a chance that a miracle will occur and somehow the country will be saved. I know the odds on that are low, but I still hope for the best. Even if the miracle doesn’t happen, slowing down the takeover gives us time to enjoy our current lifestyle and that seems to me to be worth something.
Divemedic · July 20, 2026 at 6:46 am
I used to think that. I don’t think so any longer. Most Republicans are completely useless and are there to butter their own bread. .

Thomas Massie made the statement
Joe · July 20, 2026 at 11:38 am
Every time Trump needed Massie’s vote to pass legislation he voted no. That’s Massie’s statement.

So I’m disappointed with this post. I enjoy your well reasoned take on many subjects, but this is just more clap trap from the never enoughers. Let me list a few accomplishments:
1. USAID, closed.
2.negative migration-first time in 50 yrs
3. 2.6 million illegals removed
4. largest blue collar wage grow in 60 years
5. Laken Riley act passed
6. Cartels dismantled
7. Catch and release ended
Could list many more. As far as no clear objective. the President has clearly stated that Iran can not have a nuclear weapon. Seems clear.
Divemedic · July 20, 2026 at 6:49 am
Most of that is stuff that will be completely undone as soon as the next President gets the power of the executive order autopen back.
USAID was closed by EO,
border will be back to open before February of 2029.
The cartels aren’t dismantled. The war on drugs is a waste of time and money. Drugs won that war a couple of decades ago.
Catch and release will be back as a policy faster than the border will be reopened.
One thing I agree with the left on is this: We have been hearing how Iran is close to a nuclear weapon for DECADES. In fact, the claim was first made in 1992 that Iran was “three to five years” away from obtaining a nuke. 34 years later, they are still milking that cow. Also, don’t look now, but Iran is making Trump look ineffective and foolish. They will continue doing so until the election, and this will cause Trump to lose both houses of Congress, making the last two years of his second term into a “lame duck” administration.
Even so, if the objective is “no nuclear weapon” how do you define a win? What measurable objective would be met in order to claim victory? They signed a treaty? That’s no more effective than a restraining order. Oooh, they pinky promised not to build a weapon. We showed them. Of course, we are out of missiles and smart bombs, so there is that. Now China enters the chat.

Came to the same conclusion on national politics coming up on 40 years ago. In all that time, only two(?) races would I have preferred a different (within outcome. Within bounds of reality, I mean. Ron Paul was never a realistic option. In all the rest, my district’s vote went the same way I would have voted.
Nukes, I was where you are now, until the Iranians started negotiations with, “We can have 11 nukes in a few weeks and you can’t do sh*t about it.” Well turns out we maybe could, and I’ve had to concede that’s probably been the case this whole time now. Between things like Israeli raids on nuclear sites and Stuxnet and Iranian nuclear scientists dying of mysterious causes every few years, I think it’s likely there’s been a delaying action this whole time.

It’s not that they are making him look ineffective and foolish — that’s all on him BEING ineffective and foolish. Can’t believe in all that time in business he’s never encountered anyone who was just trying to drag out the bargaining phase. Nor that no one in his ambit has ever noticed that’s been the Iranian modus operandi for the last half century with the lone exception of just before Reagan was sworn in.
Hard to make any case than he is intentionally beclowning himself.

Why is NO NUKE so important? Whatever happened to MAD? Wow, you have one, or ten, or a hundred….we have THOUSANDS. Ok, talking to Islam here. You’d have been better served by dropping Little Boy on Mecca, and Fat Man on Medina, and saved the next dozen for whatever ace-in-the-hole satanic dungheaps threatened mankind. One for Moscow, one for Paris, one for London, one for Ulaanbataar, one for Peking, one for Washington DC, etc. Chance missed. Only guy in the saloon with a gun…but Rosenbergs, and White, Frank the Cripple, DullesX2, etc. Next step…just what Scripture says. No USA. Rooskies and Persia and Turkey and friends, pile on da Joooooz! Ass kicked, Antichrist takes credit, things really go to shit, then TL Jesus aka Jehovah shows up, cleans house. Jew King & Creator & Saviour (for some) Jesus shows everyone how it’s done.

I totally agree that if the Dems gain control that they will wipe out all of the gains, and then some. That’s not a reason to give up the fight.
Divemedic · July 20, 2026 at 12:53 pm
As long as people keep voting for them, they have no reason to change.
Joe Blow · July 20, 2026 at 5:51 am
I have completely given up on any politician accomplishing anything of value. The notion they serve us is completely inverted at this point. The encircling police-state in particular is all the proof one should need.
Us vs. Them, its really that simple. The machinations that make it look like they’re doing something for our benefit are a charade to keep you playing the game. Notice how they never, EVER actually accomplish things that are well within their grasp, but instead produce side-show tickets to distract you from the real matters (and the next election, the ping pongs to the other side cuz they voated moar harderer). They won’t even hold a vote on SAVE act, it’s a slam dunk, now why would that be?
ghostsniper · July 20, 2026 at 6:17 am
Have you ever noticed that after every election things always get worse?
Each election cycle seems to produce a more criminal set of politicians.
And that’s without my participation.
Think how much worse things would be if I DID participate!
Doin my part…..

“Why is it that the left can make so much progress on their agenda when they are in power, but the Republicans can’t seem to do anything?”
Because they’re in on it. The dems are the Harlem Globetrotters, and the GOP are the Washington Generals.

This!!! Two sides of the same coin, both owned and controlled by the same people/organizations/countries.

We don’t call it the Uniparty for nothing.
Like the old hippie T-shirt said, “No matter who you voted for, the government got back in.”

Can’t say it’s any different here in a different country. I’ve come to the conclusion “conservatives” are useless. They’ll make all sorts of noise about what’s important, but will never actually fight or do anything when they have the power to.
Need to embrace your extremists, like the left do, to achieve anything.
