The Wake County school board in North Carolina hired a male teacher who says he’s a transgender nonbinary and demands to be called ‘Ms’ by students and shows up in dresses and skirts. Some speakers appeared at the school board meeting to demand the Wake County school board provide alternatives to elementary school parents who don’t want their children educated by a transgender teacher.
The board responded by telling the parents if they don’t like the school hiring transgender teachers than then they could pull their kids out and homeschool them.
“Here’s what our detractors are telling us by the way. You don’t support school hiring a trans teacher? Maybe public school isn’t for you or your family. Maybe homeschool. Maybe private school. That’s right. Maybe pay taxes into the school system and then pay again to escape from it.”
A cheaper option would be for parents to ban together and elect themselves a new school board. Failing that, tar, feathers, and rope my be an option.

This dynamic is playing out all over. In my AO, school vouchers passed. So enrollment is WAAAY down in public schools, necessitating closing some facilities, shifting teachers, etc. OF COURSE the bints in the bluehive bitch and wail and moan how republicans are STEALING their money by using the vouchers to send their kids to private schools. Test scores have fallen dramatically as well. All the smart-kids are getting out of public schools.
The people here see it for what it is, know the gnashing of democrat’s teeth is performative, their arguments hold no water. I think this is the better route, as it accomplishes the desired goal of my child’s education, at the same time as revealing the failures of the democrat’s model. Demonstrating and proving that failure is an important component to ridding us of the whole notion. Don’t just beat them, crush them.

My taxes pay for the public schools that have the now common liberal BS. I spent money on private school for my kids. It was expensive but it was my responsibility as a parent to protect and provide for my kids as best I could. We gave up luxuries and conveniences but it was totally worth it.
In my area homeschooling has become a common option. The homeschoolers have their own high school athletic teams and choir. Many take college classes their junior and senior years. That is paid for by the state and is an option for all students with high enough ACT test scores.
The public school officials whine about lost students to homeschooling because funding from the State is based on student count. They are completely clueless about the fact they provide a greatly inferior product.

I am from Wake County. It was a great place to live and grow up 50 years ago. I no longer reside there.
The GOP held the county commission and school board until about 2006.
The Californians and yankees out number the Southerners by far at this point.
It has gone entirely crazy blue hair liberal. Sad to see.

Wake county is a shithole, i grew up there. Its the most corrupt county on the east coast. No surprise whatsoever. As soon as the carpet baggers started arriving it was lost. Second war against northern aggression, an this time theyre building instead of burning. More damaging than shermans march. Every city asshole moved there from NY, NJ. Same story, prices up, cant afford to own my house cos taxes went through the roof cos good schools for my zero kids. The working class gets pushed into other counties, wages stay stagnant, an everybody is living their credit, spend version of the american dream. Yeah im salty
