The IRS is stupid and lazy, and your government is evil. Read this story and tell me about justice. You don’t hate our government nearly enough.

This is far from the first time I’ve heard of them doing this.
It is routine that if they can’t find someone (and they don’t look very hard), they’ll pursue family members and ex spouses instead for the money they presume they are owed.

National Treasure (movie) government: “Somebody has to go to prison.”

I had my wages garnished at one company because a previous company I worked for never paid my payroll taxes and then went away. So it became my fault.

Even worse, it was 6 years later than when I last worked for Butthead Company, Inc. So I got to pay all those penalties.

Payroll Advance places and Loan Sharks have nothing on the IRS.

#1 – I do not need an article like this to tell me how evil our government is.

The article did not specify but I would assume it was a cash sale and not purchased with a mortgage. Mortgage insurance (usually required) should have covered any defects in the title. If ever there was a cloud on a title, it would be an IRS stratocumulus.
This practice is a common one with our evil government. For example, if you are charged with a drug crime using your vehicle, they can seize it – unless the bank holds the note or its a rental.

” You don’t hate our government nearly enough”

Oh, yes we do.

Since the federal government just prints money as it wants (when was the last time you saw a balanced budget??), and the expenses of the US FAR outweigh the taxes received, why do we have the IRS??

Just one of the questions the modern monetary theory cultists don’t want to be asked.

My experience with the IRS (fortunately) has been minimal but one time I called with a question. The answer I received from the fine Amish tech was a laugh and “don’t axe me dat”.

Just yesterday I saw a video explaining that Medicare can issue a lien on your parent’s property to recover end-of-life hospitalization costs. This was presented as a “feature”, not a talkings clause violation on an estate.
