The Republicans have control of the White House, the Senate, the House, and on most things, they are getting SCOTUS decisions. They STILL can’t or won’t do shit. Is “at least we aren’t doing anything, but the dems will” the entire campaign? TPUSA would have made a difference, but I don’t know if they are going to recover from Kirk’s murder.
Traditionally, the party in power takes a hit during midterms. If the party is power does nothing, and let’s admit the truth, they haven’t done anything, then the party in power will lose big. The people in the center who will vote for the party who is best for them will go, “Why did I vote for these Republicans again after they never did the job I elected them to do? You Republicans told me you would fix Biden’s shitty economy, but you actually made things worse.”
For those reasons, the upcoming elections are going to be horrific. All the Republicans had to do was fulfill the promises they made just two years ago, but they have done nothing. Whatever goodwill they earned because Biden was demented is gone.
As for me, when sample ballots come out, I will decide race by race which candidate has earned my vote. My number one criteria is, and always has been, gun rights. They are a great metric, as a person who is opposed to gun rights isn’t going to be all that favorable to rights in general.
State Sen. Ileana Garcia (District 36) is the sole Republican who voted against Florida’s 2023 permitless carry bill and is running for reelection in 2026. District 36 is northern Seminole county, including Sanford, Lake Mary, and Longwood.
I don’t live in Seminole County, but that’s something to think about if you do.
As soon as I research the sample ballot I got, I will post my thoughts on the statewide races.

I have tried very hard to understand the mindset of someone that voted Republican in order to fix the many horrific problems created by the Democrats, yet when all the problems were not fixed, decides to vote Democrat again. I just cannot wrap my head around it. I do not care how inept a Republican is, I’ll vote for them over a Democrat. It’s simply because a Democrat is someone that if you strangle your kids, drive at an ICE officer, stab someone at a track meet and shoot a CEO in the back of the head – they’ll support you. They’ll raise money in your name, protest in the streets and fight to set you free. But if your name is Charlie Kirk and you get assassinated on a college campus for having a debate, they’ll celebrate your death, desecrate your memorials and treat the anniversary like a holiday. I will always vote Republican because a person that associates himself with that other party is okay with what I just described.

I won’t vote for Democrats as a general rule. One thing I do admire about Democrats is their ability to stick together no matter what. The only one who regularly breaks from the herd is Fetterman. I would vote for him before I would vote for certain Republicans, see below.
I won’t vote for RINOs like Murkowski, Collins, or Chris Christie. I’m not going to vote for Republicans interested in power for its own sake like Mitch McConnell or Pence. Not interested in the Republicans who are there to collect a pay check while busy cutting backdoor deals to benefit themselves.

Uncovered how much election fraud that no one would admit existed. They’re doing exactly what I voted for. Things take time.

1 The borders are under control because of Trump. You know, the guy that most of the Republican party hated and said “never Trump” until they realized he was kicking ass? Yeah, those same Republicans are still trying to sabotage him. Don’t mistake Trump’s actions for the actions of the Republican party. Anything that’s been done by him through executive order will be undone by the next President before the inaugural ball even begins. The fact that the rest of the party hasn’t passed the SAVE act guarantees it.

I can understand it taking time, but NOTHING has been done. Nothing is going to be done. The Republicans are going back to what they always do- talk a big game around election time, then go back to not doing shit as soon as their spot is secured for the next term. Wash, rinse, repeat.
As I have said many times on this blog: Just because Democrats are your enemy doesn’t mean Republicans are your friends. How many times have we as gun owners voted Republican because they promised the repeal of bad gun laws, only to be ignored until next election season?

I was admonished about due process being the right of only citizens in the US. I was quoted the 14th which states: “..nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.” Any person!!!! OK, the 2nd says “….the right of the people to keep and bear arms…” Doesn’t that mean any person, too?

I don’t think it does. The people in the second amendment would be the same people mentioned in the preamble- “We the people, in order to…” I would also argue that the people who are protected by the 14th Amendment are the same. Otherwise, people from other nations who aren’t even here would also have rights to due process.

The 2nd never gave me any rights, I already had them.
I was born with them.
The 2nd is about restricting the tyrants and is largely ignored. (shrug)

It won’t change what is coming this election. I still believe the Republicans are losing the Senate and perhaps even the house. There is also a chance that a good number of states governed by Republicans are about to get Democrats for governors. I predict it will be ugly, as a good number of swing voters are going to shy away from Republicans.
There are 4 states who have Republican governors where the races look close: Florida, Texas, Nevada, and New Hampshire. The closest race is Nevada. There are a number of states with Democrat governors who are close, but I would be surprised in this climate if the Republicans gain ground here.
The party of the sitting President historically gets punished in midterms, especially when things aren’t going well, and they aren’t going well.

I used to vote primarily on gun rights, even though I am not enamored of semi-autos or suppressors. I voted for Trump in 2016 with reluctance, for Biden with reluctance(my engineering client co. was a supporter, and voting Dem was a requirement). In 2024 I voted for Trump because of Elon Musk.
Not again. I want Trump removed from the White House, especially after the war with Iran, his support of “Israel”, and most importantly his remarks on the Lincoln nightmare. If the only way to get him out is impeachment, then I’m voting for the Dems. Sorry Elon…
I spoke this morning to a canvasser trying to promote the Repub governor candidate(and other Repubs). She talked about how wonderful Vivek is, she’s an an engineer, yadda yadda. I asked her if she knew that Vivek wants to import 20 million or so Indian “engineers” to Ohio? She replied that she did, but added that they were all so well educated. I asked if she had worked with any of them. She had not…I told her that I had, and that I had not met one that was even as good as the Liberian dindus I worked with on one miserable contract. She said that a lot of technical people were telling her the same thing, and I went back to feeding my piranhas.
I want to see Trump impeached, removed from the White House, thrown in a crappy jail with no outside communication, and given the same moldy “food” that was served to the crew of the lincoln. Granted, that will give us “Duplo” Vance, a man who makes Kamel-toe look like a genius. Oh well, rather a stupid leader than an evil one.

A couple of issues I have with your comment:
1 How can your engineering client company possibly know who you voted for unless you tell them? That’s just nonsense.
2 The crew of the Lincoln wasn’t given crappy food. I served on an aircraft carrier for six years. The food those guys were getting is the same food I got, the same food the rest of her battlegroup got (carriers don’t deploy alone. Why didn’t the other ships have the same problem?) That particular storyline was pure horseshit. Most of the photos I saw were obvious fakes. For example, carriers don’t have drop ceilings and walls made of cinderblocks.
Just a couple of months earlier, leftists were complaining the food on those ships was too good because they were getting steak and lobster. The rest of the ships in the strike group were the USS Frank E. Petersen Jr. (DDG-121), USS Spruance (DDG-111), and the USS Michael Murphy (DDG-112).

The real problem these days is that there is no “Republican” party. Does not exist. What we CALL the republican party is at war with itself, with the Democrap-aligned RINOs and the Bush cabal vs the MAGA and TeaParty survivors. John Thune is a Bushie, as was Cornyn, and most of the other RINOs.
Trump’s major failing was in personnel, and as we all know “personnel IS policy”. Trump is smart, but not a lawyer, and he’s gullible when it comes to lawyer appointments. So Trump I had Jeff Sessions and Bill Barr, while Trump II started out with Pam Blondi, who was an intimate Bushie-insider and who did precisely NOTHING from 2025-mid-2026.

I voted for “giant meteor”. That promise had not really been fulfilled yet, but there’s still time.
While I do believe we should “Let all the evil that lurks in the mud hatch out”, I’ve come to think that accelerationism is unethical. key word ‘let’ So I don’t see anything to vote for, even on my low cognition days when I thnk they might actually count some votes.

I vote for the local election stuff. Mostly, the big ticket names are already decided by money or where you vote. (ie. California).
I vote against:
All tax increases
All bonds
All fees
All new departments, agencies, or increases thereof.
All minorities
All women
All deviants
All (((non-Christians)))
The personnel especially applies to judgeships. I look at the candidate and imagine if I’d feel comfy standing on the docket with them over me.
I basically vote against everything, since nothing they propose will actually make my life better.
If the position is ‘non-partisan,’ then I vote against gov’t workers, teachers, and any union-involved people. I also vote against housewives. Basically, I’ll only vote for businessmen, or people who have worked in the private sector.
It is the best I can do, considering all the lies we’re fed, and the lack of real info. I certainly cannot ever remember voting for anyone because I was their fanboi.
