Scrapping the Constitution

One of the big talking points of the left these days is that the founders were racist, misogynistic slave owners who wrote a flawed constitution. Therefore, they claim, the entire nation needs to be rebuilt. Among their grievances (copied and pasted from a blue check):

  1. The US Constitution is profoundly out of date in key ways & flawed in others.
  2. Only the military and law enforcement should have guns (and even many in law enforcement should not.)
  3. Higher taxes for the rich and corporations.
  4. There is no place for religion in government or government agencies. It should not even be mentioned.
  5. The MAGA and far right extremists movements are in fact deplorable and beyond reasoning with.
  6. When your opponents are posing an existential threat to our society we do whatever we need to do to beat them (w/in the law.)
  7. I believe functioning democracy depends on compromise…up to a point. Every compromise with evil is a victory for evil.(note: see point 2, 5, 6, and 8)
  8. We should expand the Supreme Court to 13 justices, impose term limits, limit its jurisdiction and set and enforce ethical standards for Supreme Court justices and those who work with or influence them.

The entire list is the leftist/Communist wish list. You can see where anyone who would oppose them would be, right? You are deplorable and should be eliminated for the good of the planet, because you are evil and can’t be reasoned with.

This is why our constitution is so important. It’s also why I refuse to be disarmed.

Elections

One of the things that I say is that we don’t yet know if all of our elections are compromised, or if it was just the one in 2020. I get quite a bit of pushback on that, but let me explain:

The election machines were all connected to the Internet. We know that. You would think that the easiest way to cheat an election is for nefarious actors to simply just hack the machines to give bad vote totals to favor one candidate over another, but remember that there is a paper ballot available for auditing purposes, so this method wouldn’t work.

No what I think was done was the election machines were reporting vote totals to a central monitoring location. This allowed our nefarious actors to not only see vote totals, but to analyze where a few votes, say a million or so, could have the largest impact in swinging the most electoral college votes.

A presidential election is easy to swing. Most presidential elections are decided by a few swing states. Those swing states are usually fairly close calls, and a few tens of thousands of votes are all that decides whether or not a state goes red or blue. A great example of this was the 2000 election between Bush and Gore. Bush won Florida’s 25 electoral votes, and the Presidency, by a margin of only 537 votes.

As all of you know, it went all the way to SCOTUS. The Democrats were incensed, and convinced that Bush had cheated. They were determined to do the same: scorched earth to fight the Bush presidency at every turn. When HRC lost, they were even angrier and even more determined to win the White House at all costs, and that is exactly what they did.

As the movie suggests, you could have only 2,000 mules delivering 1,000 false ballots each, and if they were to deliver those votes in closely contested swing states, those two million votes could turn a Trump landslide into a Biden victory without there being “widespread fraud.” Think about it: 2,000 mules spreading fraudulent ballots in 40 voting districts located in 5 states. I think that is what happened.

Now apply this to the 2022 midterms. There are 435 House races and 34 Senate races to contend with. Attempting to mess with this election is orders of magnitude more difficult. Now instead of gaming 20 to 40 election counting locations to change a Presidential race, you have to game hundreds of them, while at the same time remembering that the Republicans know what’s up, and will be watching a lot more closely.

That is why I am not sure that the entire election process has been subverted. I am waiting to see what happens in the election this year. Will it matter in the end? No. The bus is still headed for the cliff, but the cliff may be a bit farther away with the bus going a bit slower. No matter what, this nation is headed for disaster. The election of 2022 will just tell us if we are out of time or not.

Plot Hole

These two women don’t spend a single word denying that they were attempting to steal an election. Instead they complain about people asking questions and being angry for being called out.

The president of the United States is supposed to represent every American, not to target one.

What about James Crowley?

George Zimmerman?

So how about we stop deflecting and get to the real question- what WERE you doing in that video?

Effective Gun Ban

We all know that the Democrats want a 1,000% tax on assault weapons. This law is very broad and will tax most guns out of existence (pdf warning):

semiautomatic rifles that have the capacity to use a magazine that isn’t a fixed magazine, and any one of the following:

  • a pistol grip,
  • a forward grip,
  • folding, telescoping, or detachable stock.
  • a barrel shroud,
  • a threaded barrel,
  • a “functional grenade launcher.”

Or a semiautomatic rifle that has a fixed magazine with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds, except for an attached tubular device designed to accept, and capable of operating only with, .22 caliber rimfire ammunition.

any semiautomatic pistol that has the capacity to use a magazine that isn’t a fixed magazine, and any one of the following:

  • a threaded barrel
  • a second pistol grip (these are already NFA weapons. I don’t know what effect this law will have)
  • a barrel shroud
  • the capacity for inserting the magazine anywhere outside of the pistol grip (such as the CZ Scorpion and other PDWs)
  • if it looks like a machine gun
  • weighs more than 50 ounces (this is obviously aimed at AR pistols)
  • a Stabilizing brace
  • a buffer tube (again, aimed at AR pistols)

The tax will also apply to any ammunition magazine, belt, drum, etc. that holds more than 10 rounds of ammo, but specifically excludes fixed tubular .22LR magazines.

Plus a bunch of other stuff. Then it goes on to charge the tax on any of the frames, parts of the firearms covered, and parts of magazines. This is, in effect, a ban most firearms and their parts by taxing them into oblivion. Essentially the same thing that happened with the NFA. The only firearms that seem exempt are bolt, lever action, and rimfire.

Imagine a basic AR-15 that costs $11,000 and using $110 magazines.

Since it is a tax, the Senate doesn’t even have to vote on it. It can be passed through budget reconciliation.

Waiting for More Details

There has been reportedly been a deal reached on gun control, with 10 republicans signing on to support it. I will wait for more details since the text hasn’t been written yet, but it doesn’t look too bad. The overwhelming sense I get is that this is mostly a mental health bill. One thing that is concerning, however, is that this law will include a red flag law.

I don’t think for a second that this law will never be abused. After all, I already know from first hand experience that Domestic Violence restraining orders are routinely abused by people that want to get revenge on former paramours. A woman even was awarded one against David Letterman because, as she reported, he was beaming secret messages to her through his TV show.

I would feel better if there were a legal mechanism in place that allows for the punishment of those who abuse these legal processes in the form of what has become known as “lawfare.”
