A note on the current short story. I have created an entire world, built around a near future conflict. I have setup an entire future military and conflict with an enemy. Of course, there are many complications along the way. I wanted to put out a short story and release it over a few episodes. The original story was supposed to be in three parts. Now it looks like it will take at least 7 or 8. This is one of those things that, as I write down what happened, the story takes on a life of its own.

I have a general idea of how the whole thing plays out, but there is still a long way to go in order to get there. It’s entertaining me, and I am happy that you all seem to be enjoying it as well. It’s odd, because it’s like I have this movie playing out in my head, and all I am doing is writing it down as it happens.

There are at least five more installments coming, but realistically, it’s probably more like eight more. I have already written and scheduled two more, with another being edited and proofread right now. I want to make sure there are no plot holes. That’s why I am spacing their release, so I have time to go back and change things that don’t have continuity.

I’m hoping you will find it as entertaining as I do, watching how things play out for our Marines, their neuro, and the corpsman.

I needed to take a step back from disaster porn. It gets a bit depressing, watching this once great nation fall apart at the seams, while segments of it collude to destroy it. I needed this story to help me escape from the reality we are currently having to deal with.

If this short story does well, I will look for a publisher to see if I can tell stories from the larger world that it’s a part of.
