I did a quick web search, and apparently Canada actually has a citizen’s arrest statute. Best as I can tell, it’s nationwide, not the state-by-state patchwork in the US.

You may recall that Rittenhouse went through hell in court and probably owed hundreds of thousands in attorney fees. He only got off due to exceptional incompetence by the prosecution.
Same deal with Zimmerman. And if you saw a GROUP of shooters cut loose on antifa, the SWAT/ATF response would make Ruby Ridge look like a sunny walk in the park.
