Miguel posts over at his place that Tennessee is having trouble with Venezuelan gangs. It’s becoming more and more obvious that the left is allowing this because they are going to use the gangs as their foot soldiers. Remember that the left began turning illegal immigrants into police officers in 2023 or so.
This is right out of the CIA insurgency manual, which has been followed by the left since at least 2019. The plan is to make people distrust the government so that they can replace it with their own, alternative, government. You know, the alternative that they have created.
The police cannot, or perhaps will not, do anything to stop this. Things will eventually get sporty.
So we are left to begin planning our own counter. The only answer is obvious. Things are getting closer and closer to ‘going hot.’ Be prepared to setup sniper positions, where a pair of shooters can act as a sniper team to take out gang members from a couple of hundred yards away before departing the area. A shot from 300 yards away with a suppressed .308 should be enough to stymie them while giving you time to GTFO of Dodge. A .308 rifle zeroed for 200 yards will shoot 2.5 inches high at 100 yards, 9 inches low at 300 yards, and about 24 inches low at 400 yards. If you aim at the top of the forehead, you should reliably get ‘A zone’ hits out to 430 yards or so, when your drop is about 32 inches. With a suppressor, you lose a bit, call it 30 inches at 400 yards. Even the slowest .308 rounds are still moving at around 1300 fps at 300 yards, resulting in about 550 foot pounds of energy at that range. Of course, this is based on your particular ammo and your particular barrel, but the above is close enough for Kentucky windage.
Other tactics could include true camouflage. I am not talking about the idiotic dressing like a tree in the middle of an urban environment that SWAT teams do. That is some ridiculous shit. The entire idea of camo is to not be noticed. In an urban environment, blending into the background means looking like people who won’t be noticed, not like SEAL team 6. No, an ambush team that has a spotter dressed as a homeless bum would be better for blending in. Who even looks at, much less notices, a homeless druggie? Three people dressed as drug users with cheap Baofeng radios can act as lookouts on 3 of your 4 sides, leaving the ambush team to worry about the kill zone (your 4th side).
Start learning the basics of ambushes. Thing about how you will need to take the fight to the enemy. It’s coming. Plan for it now.

there are a few very good books on urban warfare out there these days.
besides the ones you really want will be hard to get at. foot solders are easy to get at.
the first level or NCO types are your main targets- see what Michael Collins did and it worked.
even so, hitting two or more out of nowhere will stop them for a while.
and hand held radios will stand out, use burner phones instead. you will blend in a lot better.
damn near everyone has a cell phone these days, radio. not so much.

Dave while shoot and scoot worked well for the IRA there is one major difference between the South American Gang Bangers and the British Troops.
British Troopers mostly obeyed the Laws of War. They seldom destroyed a few buildings and raped-beat civilians because they took fire from that village.
While they tried to get folks to tell them information about the IRA, they seldom got effective information. Partly because the IRA was very inclined to beat-murder informers.
Are you willing to be known as dangerous thugs like the IRA was?
Gangbangers will extort information from civilians as so to find and destroy your snipers.
The Mexican gangs have ambushed and destroyed Mexican army units. They take hostages and get the government and military to back off or their wives and children get sent back piece by piece.
You know the stuff WE talk about when the Potato talks about sending F16’s and tanks at us. Attacking the soft families to keep the warfighters at bay.
So, in short, sniping and fading away will most likely generate burning villages and extortion for information about you and yours. How many Average Joes will give up anything they saw or know about you to “save” their family.
Better to think Iraqi resistance. Figure out their patterns and give them the gift of an IED either far away from your village or near a village loyal TO the Enemy. If you have the strength add an ambush to get the survivors. Then FADE AWAY. Don’t have civilians nearby to rat you out.
Pretty soon just like our troops they stop patrolling areas that get them killed. Shrink their “Green Zone”.
I know that run flat tires are popular but in real life ™ a flattened run flat has a max speed around 15 MPH and a rolling range before destroyed about 50 miles. Less off road.
I learned that when riding in a Cadillac Commando Armored car in Iraq. Tires got shredded by machine gun fire. We limped home. It was REALLY Hard to keep Run Flats on them as Iraqis loved to destroy them with bladed caltrops and strips.

the cartels and gang bangers are known for using that level of terror too.
sniping only works if used with other ways to wipe them out wholesale.
like forcing them into a mined area for one. or if one happened to put stakes in the one area of cover ? I forget where it was that I did read that the Germans used land mines along the sides of the road so when they shot at the GI’s they dropped on them.
making land mines might be a bit to ask for, but fougasse weapons are real easy to make and trigger. does the same thing, kill/wound soldiers and they can be set off as needed as well. just saying, of course. like anything else in life, think it thru.
in LIC warfare, you have to pick the time and place of attack and not just respond to it.
that is what makes or breaks read history and adapt it to your needs

It’s useful, for 308 users, to know POI vs POA in 50 meter increments from 50 to 400. For 556 users, stop at 300 meters. Not that you can’t hit farther, but unless you’re hacking MK262 or equivalent, energy falls off enough beyond 400 that effectiveness is often questionable. As for members of the Boltie Creedmoor Gang, 1.2K is your kingdom.
And learn small unit tactics, especially for sniper teams; despite Hollywood’s proclivity for enshrining them, lone wolves don’t last long and neither do the greedy – Shoot ‘n’ Scoot is your friend.

Everyone wants to talk about how they’re gonna snipe the bad guys from distance. Sure, if you plan ahead, and you know the enemy movements ahead of time, and take all the precautions to get away undetected. Doing all that without getting caught? It can be done, but things would have to have deteriorated to the point where you and several buddies are not preoccupied with work and supporting your families Monday through Friday. It would take being successful at getting the drop on those animals over time before you made a difference.
More likely you get into a scrape with these animals out in public, or they show up at your door like that apartment building in CO. If you aren’t prepared for that ahead of time, your chances of doing anything meaningful are quite low.
You would need a lot of people on board with taking action and more supporting the effort.

Max Velocity’s books on this kind of thing are worth reading. “Contact!” is probably the most valuable one-stop shopping for tactics and techniques book out there. And Max still offers classes at his WV facility which imo are well worth it. The MVT classes let you learn and see if you’ve learned enough to try this stuff against paper and plastic targets that aren’t shooting back- that doesn’t sound like much but if you haven’t done this before, it’s going to take you at least a couple days to get up to that point to do that in a team without putting accidental holes in each other

The real Danger of these ‘gangs’ moving in to the FUSSA is not their inherent tendencies to Violence, but the FACT that they are Protected by a Bigger Gang – the ‘government’ Thugpigs. Listen to the po-Lice whine about how they can ‘do nothing’ about cockroaches like ‘Tren de Aragua’ but let anyone (particularly if they are White) even Defend themselves against cockroach gangbangers, and “The Full Force of the Law” will descend upon them.
Jonesy is correct in that ‘Sniping’ takes a Lot more Work than most keyboard kommandoes are willing/able to Accomplish. And until there is complete lack of ‘government’ (not just po-Lice, but bureaucrats, ‘persecutors’ and courts)
it will be quite un-possible to have ‘Organized Defense Groups’ working effectively against the Criminals.
