If you look in the comments to the video, some are claiming vandalism is free speech. So if I begin holding down leftists and tattooing swastikas on their foreheads, would THAT be free speech as well? No? What’s the difference? Would it be OK if instead of your forehead, I simply painted it on your house or keyed it into your car? Why?

Unsurprisingly, she looks like a frumpy 2. They all look similar. I tried to find the outcome or status of the case, but perhaps her charges were dropped, because no case was found under her name in the Walton county court records system.

She was charged with criminal trespass resulting in damage less than $500. That’s a misdemeanor. Most folk charged with that are diverted into community service and restitution rather than jail. I suspect we haven’t found out anything further because they are negotiating the plea deal. One thing to remember is that it is often in the defense’s best interest to delay any trial as long as possible, and neither the court nor the DA want to spend the upteen gazillion dollars it takes to do a real prosecution. Meanwhile, she’s out on bail without a conviction. I wouldn’t be surprised if this drags on for another 2-3 years before she pleads to community service.

Just guessing but the sign owner and city authorities do not want more dummies in town raising hell in support of her. So crickets which of course means they’ll only get more of the same. a public flogging and shaming would be more effective. For those arguing ‘1st Amendment’ rights supporters, paint is not speech especially on someone else’s property. On your own, who cares?
