No song has ever done what this one has done. The song Rich Men North of Richmond has debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart at number 1. Without a record label, an unknown artist, and country music, to boot. Tell me that the people in this country haven’t had enough.
Even if you don’t like country, the song strikes a chord (no pun intended) with many.

Totally agree!
Word is he is making $40k a day now. I could not be happier for him.

As Chris says, he is not a good guitar player nor a good singer. The emotion and the angst represent what many people feel.

It has definitely struck a cord with a lot of Americans. Watching the various review, it cuts across all boundaries.

Yes, the song speaks to a lot of people. I was even initially impressed by it. But now there are bits of information starting to garner attention from us natural skeptics that has this looking like a planned operation, with some outside backing. That doesn’t change what the song says, but it does leave an unpleasant sensation of this being a way to manipulate people and redirect their righteous anger away from pursuing action against those responsible for the state the country is in. And that is good reason to tread carefully.

gee, kind of like a safety valve ? what ever gave you that idea ?
what they do not want is for someone to rally the people to go after the assholes behind all of this bullshit. that scares the shit out of them. fun fact, as pissed as the people are now ?
wouldn’t take much more to get them in the streets howling for blood.
just think of how many people got slammed over shit the fuckers in charge get away with everyday feel about them ? if and when it does happen here. it will make the whole French thing look like a walk in the park. there is not enough cops or military here to protect them if the people do go on the warpath against them. hell the very fact that congress no longer has to
pay rent or taxes or anything else now. we all are paying for it. image how that will make the normal person trying to pay their bills feel ?

He’s an actor, and we are all being played.

I’ve been pretty suspicious from the start myself. Red flag #1 to me was the expensive studio mic he used and the recording equipment required. Not “shot on an iPhone”-stuff. How many “two week” hopium/diversions does it take to win an election? Not many, as most Americans are so bored and frustrated with their lives they’d rather “repost” and “like” instead of going outside for a walk to improve their health.

That expensive studio mic is owned by radiowv, who travels around Appalachia looking for interesting people to record. You may have noticed the radiowv branding at the end of the song.

Saw a headline to the effect of “turns down contract for 8 million, making 40,000 a day.”
I’ll take 40k a day over 8 million for the win Alex. (Yes I know it’s not forever, nothing is, and not tied up in lawyer latifundia either).

Having been told by a fellow church member that systemic racism is absolutely real and a serious problem, I have been watching the reaction videos from black YouTubers. I haven’t found any disagreement from them so far with the song. One said, “Is this my cousin?” Another referred to him as a brother of another color. I’ve seen some call out to protect this man. I’ve seen written comments from a black high voltage lineman who had always thought his white co-workers had it easier, and now realizes they don’t.
Pressure relief? It’s a relief to know they also see that there is an agenda to keep us divided.
If the man was an actor, whoever thought that was a good idea must have gotten fired. Oops.
