Are those shields rated to stop 5.56mm?

I would surely die of rolling around laughter… I am sure the one with the hatchet(sp) would split my skull as I would e on the ground by that time.

Oh, I can see about 20-30 serious vulnerabilities just from my first watching of the vid. I’m sure repeat viewings and paying close attention will reveal plenty more of such. We should hope this type is all we’ll have to deal with once CW v2.0 finally does kick off for real.

Skandinavian shields and weapons.
But here’s the kicker. Shields are too small for a shield wall. Need to be from neck to knee. Those look like 24″ center-boss (held at the center of the shield and not strapped to the arm at the elbow and wrist.) Need to be around 32″ to 36″ to be effective with a shield wall. Best, in a shield wall, to hold the top of the shield just under the level of the eyes. And wear a helmet.
You can use a 24″ shield. It needs to be held farther from the body to make up for its smaller size. Geometry at work. A 36″ shield held close to the body covers about as well as a 24″ shield held 15″ from the body. But there’s less chance of getting your shield arm hacked off with a larger shield.
Another factor is the weapons. They do not have the reach for a smaller shield held farther from the body. Rule is “Large Shield, Short Weapon. Small Shield, Long Weapon.”
Close to within whacking range and take a leg or two, there goes the shield wall. Or shoot them in the legs with arrows and there goes the shield wall.
Or, considering they’re all standing straight up, just charge the wall and bulldoze your way through. They are not in a stable stance, either in a semi-crouch or a boxer’s stance, with the shield-side leg forward and weapon-side leg back, both shoulder-width apart. They are not. Think football. Crashing through the offensive line. If the offensive players aren’t in a good stance, they get knocked back.
They’d do better being light infantry or archers, or working a spear.
My experience in fighting definitely has shown me the difference between the male physique and the female. Few females can hold their own on the line. There are some, but if the ladies are in the line, well, the line is falling.

I have a few from Zombie Tools. They make them in Missoula Montana ( not too far from me) and the are GREAT! My favorite is the Rat Bastard but I love all the ones I have. Definitely grab at least one!

The AWFLs also aren’t holding their “swords” properly. They shouldn’t be holding swords at all; they should have spears. I guess proper pikes didn’t come until much later.
The shields are probably Ren Faire quality, or worse. So no, they wouldn’t stop a harsh word, much less an actual bullet.

Scandanavian (or Celtic) style fighting. Should be alternating long handled axes and spears. And they don’t have shields locked properly. When the Vikings did this shields were locked so tightly that a man in the line could be dead and he would still be moving with them.

Zombie Tools are just down the road from me. They are not cheap by any stretch of the imagination, but make quality stuff. Have a couple of there ‘tools’. Highly recommend.

My Colt 1911 has this issue/problem solved,no need to reach for spare magazine.
