I agree on several of the points you make. I believe we have a mayor and a commission that would clamp down on the populace in a heartbeat. Witness the mayor’s news conferences – weekly – for more than year. ALL focused on COVID-19 – was there nothing else happening in the county in all that time? Heavily encouraging “the shot.”
But I’m going to say that the retail “puppy mill” operations are questionable. It seems that the animals may not be treated in the best way. And there may be animals that have problems from poor breeding/handling protocols. I don’t begrudge any merchant from earning their keep in legitimate business – just want humans and animals both to be protected from unscrupulous practices.
