Why am I seeing so much of the “Where is your warrant?” bullshit on social media. Cops don’t need to show a warrant while arresting someone, especially not to anyone who demands to see it.

I suspect we all tend to make up rules in our head about the way things should be, often unconsciously.
It’s always interesting – or “interesting” – when one’s internally developed rules beliefs about how things should be and work, differs from the reality.

It would be nice though if they provided a warrant when requested. If the cops are knocking on my door and saying that I’m under arrest; I’m going to tell them to slide the warrant under the door and I’ll surrender peacefully. If not they can piss off. Otherwise I hope they have level 4 plates.
Out on the streets. I understand it’s a different kettle of fish.

A person of interest in a felony property damage investigation is visible and the doorway was opened by the occupants of the house. At that point, they DO have a right to come in and arrest her. Same as if they saw a crack-dealer running into the bathroom.

We used to use the term “shithouse lawyers” for folks who got in the middle of things demanding warrants we didn’t need and other such dumb stuff. The retard is strong in much of our population.
