That word “straight” has ghosted into the common vernacular and subtly replaced the perfectly accurate word “normal” as regards sexual orientation. This just chafes my butt, and I resist when it is used in that way in my presence. This usage started to come about in the mid 80s if my memory is correct. It was shortly after the American Negro had struggled and finally succeeded to find a race descriptor that would not easily be associated with slavery. Words evoke images in the mind, as they are supposed to do, and those words and images create neural pathways. And neural pathways, like roads and highways on the landscape, lead to conclusions. As Orwell and Marx before him, noted; he who controls language controls the mind. So homosexuals, desiring to blur the image that an accurate descriptor (for the behavior that made them an identifiable cohort) would call to mind, sought to find a suitable euphemism to conscript, for the purpose of obfuscation. The word “gay” use to evoke the image of someone in a happy state of mind (like a child at Disneyland) or someone with a gentle and happy disposition. No more. But what is the opposite of “gay”, in its new state? Use to be, still, “Normal”. And what is the opposite of normal? Abnormal. What is abnormal? That which deviates from normal, which, in terms of behavior, would be deviant. This progression of the obvious could not be allowed to obtain. A new word was cut from the herd and conscripted to the purpose of winning unsuspecting hearts and minds: “Straight”. Straight suddenly became a euphemism for “sexually normal”, words which must not be used together, Lest they evoke the image of abnormal. Deviant. And it succeeded so quickly and wildly that the same people invented a brand new word “cisgender”, a nonsensical utterance that means, as near as I can tell, the opposite of the opposite of “normal”. Which of course would be: “normal”. Let’s try to smother the obvious with a pillow, under a blanket, in the dark of night, with the light off (like probably happened to Justice Scalia) shall we?.

This whole business is as nonsensical as the ridiculous, nonsensical word “transsexual”, which seeks to evoke and normalize the image of something that has never been and can never be: An utter absurdity. Never since ever have humans – even biologists – witnessed a mammal “transitioning” from one sex to the other (for there are only, objectively, two.) It not only has never happened, but it is scientifically impossible, no matter how much cosmetic surgery one is able to get taxpayers to unknowingly spring for.

I bristle at the use of the word “straight” as a descriptor of sexual orientation because it is purposely dishonest and manipulative.

In this case, I am happy. Now the left gets to oppose the very statements they made. They are literally arguing with themselves.
