I don’t think this should be legal.

If I don’t pull over for it because it doesn’t LOOK like a cop car, I shouldn’t go to jail.

In my previous hometown in NY, they’ve been doing that for awhile. I am unsure if it is important for the cop’s ledgers, but the article implied some importance that the car (painted white with barely visible “POLICE” in reflective white paint) was not an undercover vehicle.

If the police are there to help, why are they hiding except to enhance revenue?

Cops are NOT here to help. Their primary existence is extorting money from the citizenry. In fact, cops have been released forever after for any responsibility to serve and protect. The underlying cause that has turned the police against everyone is a 2005 Supreme Court case titled Castle Rock v. Gonzales. In 1998 Mr. Gonzales kidnapped his three teenage girls in spite of the fact that Mrs. Gonzales had perfected a restraining order. Over the next 24 hours she phoned the police and 911 over a dozen times. The police assured her that the family will show up somewhere but they did nothing to assist in a search. When the dad rolled up in front of the police station with the girls the next day a gun battle ensued. When the smoke cleared everybody in the vehicle was dead. The police insisted that Gonzales killed the girls before his arrival… and because the police investigated themselves and never allowed video footage to be viewed Mrs. Gonzales was told to buzz off. She sued the city of Castle Rock, Colorado successfully but then the table was turned and the above case went all the way to the Supreme Court. The court knew this case would totally bankrupt Castle Rock so they ruled that police EVERYWHERE have NO DUTY to serve or protect and are now exonerated when they harm, injure or kill. The only time accountability is applied is if a cop is filmed emptying an entire clip of bullets into the back of a fleeing man. Walter Scott, anyone? In the past 21 years police departments everywhere have filled up with violent psychopathic freaks who know innately they can’t be punished. The police are here only to protect themselves and serve the State. NEVER call the police. And if they pull you over may heaven help you.

I thought Miami-Dade and Broward had protocols in which an unmarked vehicle could not stop a car but report, follow and wait for a full marked vehicle to conduct the stop. Apparently, that is no longer the case.
What I have seen recommended if you have doubts is to turn the hazard lights, slow down and drive to a well-lit area while on the phone with 911 to confirm it is a cop car. How well the cop may take that is another story.

I’m pretty much pro-police, but I would not pull over for that either. I wonder if you can demand a jury trial in Florida for traffic tickets like you can in Texas?

It doesn’t have a frontal picture, but I wonder if the “sheriff” logo is on the hood and visible. I’d guess with any sort of weather, you wouldn’t see it, and as you noted, I’d think twice about pulling over.

Doesn’t look like a cop car whatsoever but every one of their vehicles… pickup trucks, SUV, souped-up hot rods, all of them have an internal blue & red spinning and flashing mounted deck along the top edge of the windshield. You get the picture pretty damn fast.

As a woman, I would have my flashers going and drive slowly while on the phone to 911. THAT forces a recording that can be subpoenaed. To top it off, I would say that I feared for my life; as a woman I am in no position to fight off a predator. Most cops get nervous being equated with a kidnapper. Men on the other hand, should have their attorney on the phone and the phone should be recording. I think you can buy those little auto record devices for about $200. They attach right onto your phone and pick up everything. They can also directly download to your computer.
That being said-what a crazy world the USA has become. I can hardly believe that it used to be another country.

My county cops in Wyoming here all went to those muted versions as well. State patrol similar. Cops supposedly are here to serve, if they are here for anything other than traffic tickets why be in a blackout color?
